Doctor has referred me to the University of Miami neuro for clipping of my Basilar tip aneurysm. I live in Orlando so is a blessing that all these people have come together to see that I may live to see my grandchildren grow up. Feel so lucky to have the chance. I’m learning that I have a difficult aneurysym to clip and my configuration of arteries and vessels are different than most, I’m in a 10 percent group of people like me, how odd is that. Been looking for all I can on blogs and such so I can have an idea as to what will be expected with surgery and recovery. Please add me to your prayers.
Hi Sheree...I had my coiling done in Florida...it was on my basilar tip aneurysm...I didn't have it done at the University of Miami...however, I was told after the fact that I should have gone there for my coiling...that they are excellent with Brain Aneurysm's...
I know you are scared, but by May 9th...you will be ready to get this show on the road ~ Gotcha in my Thoughts and prayers ~ Cyber~hugs Colleen

Hi Sheree - I haven’t had my surgery yet but am scheduled for clipping May 30. Just wanted to wish you the best of luck and say I understand how you are feeling. I have a one year old and three year old and feel thankful to be having this fixed so I can be there for them. Still scared as heck but trying to focus on all the positives for now!
Best of luck to you and my thoughts are with you.
Kim
Thanks so much, I will be having the same approach as you, I was thinking about shaving my head before surgery, I have seen so many pics of blood and mess in the hair and not being able to wash your head, the least of my worry, I'm sure, but then the kids got all excited because they want to pic out my hat or wig! How long were you in the hospital and how long until you felt like nothing bad was going to happen, I will be staying with my sister for about a week or two after surgery there in Miami and then coming back to Orlando, just wondering if you think that reasonable.
I will be praying for you as well, we will have to compare notes if you will, since we are going in it about the same time frame. Take care and continue to think positive, like I am as well...
Thanks Colleen, I noticed from your blogs and such you are from Tampa, I am originally from the west coast as well, moved to Orlando about 4 years ago. I was really surprised that they are sending me to Miami, I guess when I do something I don't fool around!
Sheree; congrats for your planning...I am delighted for you and your blessings for your transfer to the U....
and, you may garner their smiles when you tell them they are on international coverage!
