Anxious :(

Did my pre-op today, was hoping it would make me feel better, but when the nurse anesthesis said, “sometimes treating these things is just as dangerous as not treating them”…it just made me feel more anxious. :frowning:

Well he/ she was definitely out of line with that statement. Don't let it get to you. Yes, there are risks with every procedure--general anasthesia alone--but remember, coiling is second nature to experienced neurosurgeons these days. Hang in there. It'll be over before you know it. Thinking of you, Patty

Thank you Patty. I feel so unsettled and unsure right now.

Kim, I agree with Patty, the person opened mouth and inserted foot. I’ve had two coilings and am still here to irritate the heck out of folks! Yep risks with anesthesia, but heck there are risks crossing the road as well. Part of preop is being told the risks. Just know that both your surgeon and the anesthetist is doing everything they have been trained to do. Keep a positive outlook, you will do fine!
