Hi all. I had bleed on the brain January 2014 where they coiled aneurysm but it didn’t work and come back bigger by July. They stented it October but when I went for angiogram the other day they they said it should of shrunk more in 8 months. Anyone else had this problem? Did it take longer to shrink? Or is it ok to live like that? Mine is a wide neck aneurysm and stent about 4 1/2 inches long.
Hello Kelly, I had my Aneurysm in 2012. I had the Pipeline Embolization Device ( PED) implanted in Jan.2012. I went in for my six month check up. It had not gone down, so my surgeon and I decided that a second implant needed to be done. On June 8,2012, I went in for a second surgery. He implanted a second one inside the first one. Ten days later, I went in and he did a check on it and told me that it was completely gone!
Ask your surgeon about doing a second implant inside the first one. Mine was a wide neck, I don't remember the size, but I do know that I have been " Annie" free for three years now! What works for one person may not work for someone else. We are all different. It doesn't hurt to ask questions.
