OK, I have a question. I had my craniotomy a few weeks ago as you all are aware. My sister just got Covid the other day and of course I’ve been around her. Therefore I have been exposed to Covid. I took a test and it’s running negative right now, but is there going to be a bigger concern if I catch it because I’ve just had brain surgery or is it just like anybody else that catches it? I’ve had it twice. So catching a third time, seems crazy and impossible but it shouldn’t. Like I said, at this moment, I’m testing negative, but I’ve still been exposed. Any advice ?
Kassi, one day you’ll write a book, your life is never boring! I can’t wait to read it…
Have you been vaccinated? I had to be when I got my fourth procedure during the pandemic, seems most of the rooms in NSICU was for COVID patients and then I was switched to another unit that was open and most of those patients had COVID as well. Oddly enough the RNs on the NSICU rooms put on gloves and masks when entering a patient’s room but the open unit did not -go figure

Either way, I’d contact my Neurosurgeon and self isolate, wear a mask if you have to go out. I’m hoping you do not contract it and having it twice, hopefully your immune system has built up its own defense mechanisms.
If it makes you feel any better, the third time that I had covid was very mild. I was fully up to date on my vaccinations at the time.
It sounds like you’re taking the right precautions, and I agree with @Moltroub that touching base with your doctor would be a good idea. Fingers crossed the test stays negative.

Negative!! However, now my cat is having issues. I just want my car back so I can just drive away for a while. Very very far away.
The daily headaches are fun. But Tylenol usually whacks those out!
Does “Negative!!” mean you were retested and are still negative? I get confused and we just had to de-skunk our other dog, bending still effects my cognition…wish the skunk would learn to stay out of their perimeter😂.
You need to have a heart to heart talk with that cat! Tell him to get better so you can quit worrying so much! I’m not sure it will do any good, cats have a mind of their own, more than dogs do and mine haven’t learned to run away from a skunk yet.
