Hi, my aneurysm (temporal lobe) was clipped almost four years ago and I’ve had some nagging pain on that side of my head right where it is. Has anyone else experienced this? I had a CTA for normal follow up yesterday and am awaiting results. I am of course very nervous about it.
I was hoping someone else has had this type of pain and it is just a normal part of things we will live with. I certainly can live with anything that isn’t dangerous.
Thanks, Laura
Laura - I had an aneurysm clipping in 2005 and was fine for the first 3 years, then starting having pain at the aneurysm site (and head pain all over - ugh!) for the past several years. I've encountered many people with this issue. My CTA and MRA's all normal...a lot of it is post-op unexplained annoying pain. Hopefully that is what yours is!
Thank you momof2! That makes me feel so much better, still no call w results but I will sleep better tonight because of you.

Unfortunately I’m an expert on post op headaches so feel free to always email me w issues —chances are I’ve been there. There aren’t many survivors so I’m happy to stay in touch. Good luck w results
Thanks again momof2, the results are in, no new aneurysms at site of clip and I don't go back for 5 years to recheck. whoosh. I'm still trying to breathe it in. That stabbing pain had me convinced I was facing another -I don't know what- but tears are flowing now. Trileptal for seizure activity from that lesion. (and from a Cavernous angioma w AVM in occipital lobe) I appreciate your good wishes and support. Laura

Yes iam having painful pain on my operated side it scars me also how much Tylenol medication can one take. I’m seeing a neurosurgeon just to make sure my head is ok I had a clipping its something no can understand if you haven’t gone thru this .
Wishing you the best Ileana, as I said, if we know it’s just a normal thing we have survived to live with- and it’s not dangerous, well good. If you are still in the early stages I guarantee that discomfort will diminish. I couldn’t open my mouth for a sandwich for six months post craniotomy. Sometimes, I order a big one and enjoy just to be grateful that is all past me now. So, hoping you are on a good and healing path. Keep me posted! Until then you have my best wishes…
