Hi Ron, and thank you. I am home now and so exhausted after traveling but it was worth it. I tried to reply to you on my train journey home on my phone, then the post disappeared. I cant see it here so I don't know what I did!! The neuro said my symptoms after coiling did not relate to a stroke or a seizure. He said he didnt know what it was I had experienced after my surgery but that my coils are looking good and as they should be. Regarding my blurred vision, he is now having a pituitary specialist there at the Queens to check Dec's scan and also the scan I had a year ago.

Hi Janet! Thanks. I do feel better after seeing the neuro today, because its a place of excellence and if there was anything to be concerned about regarding my aneurysm surgery he would know. However, he did say he didn't know what it was on my pituitary as its not his field, hopefully I will know more soon. I was told it was a tumor, then told it was a rathke's cleft cyst and now its got to be checked by a pituitrity specialist. I feel drained after traveling and it will take me days to recover but I am happy I went.

Hi Collen and thanks. its still a mystery what happened to me 4 days after my surgery. The neuro had never heard of my symptoms! The odd sensation in my brain on the right side where my coils were placed and the involuntary movement of my arm shooting in the air and my left leg affected! On the 7th day following my surgery, I experienced my right cheek pulling and my right arm felt limp. He said as was on the the right side of my face and my aneurysm was on my right carotid artery, my left side would have been affected had it been a stroke. He said my scan looked good so I'm happy with that, just wish my odd symptoms would disappear. He did say that my pituitary gland wasn't that far away from my aneurysm so maybe thats why I have had these odd symtoms.

hey Eve!

You know a Pituatary tumor can certainly wreck havoc with vision: My mother in law has one that is evidently growing and pressing on the optic chasm, resulting in the complete loss of periphial vision in her case . And from I understand, depending on the tumor, it can secrete a variety of different hormones which can cause a variety of different things to go amiss. I hope that whatever it is, its easily treatable! Thanks for the update, now go home and rest !

Peace, Janet

That is interesting Eve about the pituitary gland...I just recently went to a Endocrinologist about my adrenal gland not functioning...which inter related with pituitary gland...I had many tests last week and my husband and I will sit down with him in about 2 weeks with results, etc., and I have had a lot of the dizzy, balance issues, the 2 nerves in my face damaged etc., I will keep you posted with my results...I am glad your scan's look good, but doesn't help what is going on with you...I hope they get to the bottom of the issues...~ Gotcha in my Thoughts ~ Colleen

Hey Eve...I just read what Janet wrote and see I have a tumor pressing on my left adrenal gland...

Oh Janet I am so exhausted today after traveling yesterday. My sight has gone totally in my left eye. I will be glad to hear what the pituitary consultant has to say about my scans. Will they be able to remove your mother in laws tumor? I was told my the neurosurgeon that if mine grew, he could remove it through my nose.

Oh no Colleen, I'm so sorry to hear that. Sending you a big hug. I too have balance problems and since my surgery if I get up after having my hair done I fall over!!I was told I now have hypotension as my blood pressure has been on the floor since my surgery. In London yesterday, I was told not to lift anything ever, due to having coils. The neuro said I could walk, jog, and go to the gym if I ever feel well enough, but I was never to lift weights or anything around the home. I'm wondering if its because where my coils are placed?

awesome!! eve im so happy for you! one step at a time- I hope your vision is restored, ty for your reply, even the lost one from the train!-lol take care~

Hi all,

I have been doing a lot of thinking today as I cant do much else. I am totally wiped out from Mondays traveling and even though my sight has returned in my left eye, its still not right. I am wondering why I wasn't told to avoid all lifting, when I went to discuss my 6 month follow up MRA with the neurosurgeon. I wasn't told of any restrictions at all. The neurologist on Monday told me no lifting, ever? I should have asked him why this was, but I was so relieved and happy to hear that my symptoms were not stroke related, I didn't ask any further questions. Just wondering what everyone here has been told after their coiling?

I wasn't given a discharge sheet when I left Hospital. I was kneeling on the floor putting things into my suitcase, when the nurse told me I mustn't bend and to just walk around the house for the first two weeks.

Nine months down the line and I can feel something, not a pain or a sensation but maybe a kind of pressure on the right side of my head, where the coils are, whenever I bend and also when I lay on my right side in bed. I didnt mention this because I would probably be told it isn't possible and not related but it wasn't happening before my surgery. The cold weather really affects my head now and I have to wear a hat.
