I had a stent assisted coiling for my 7mm aneurysm on May 29, 2013. I feel way better now but I am having pain in my left eye and it is bloodshot all the time. My aneurysm is on my left carotid artery near the opthalmic artery. Has anybody else had an issue like this? I am worried that I will lose vision in that eye. During surgery the blood flow was blocked by clotting temporarily to my eye but I can still see. I did have floaters constantly after the surgery but I quit taking my plavix after 6 months and ten days later I didn't have floaters anymore and thats when the eye pain started.
I had similar procedure (minus the stent) in early May. Same size, same location. I too had floaters after surgery. I did not have any vision loss. I'm off the Plavix but still on full strength aspirin. I've had occasional "micro bursts" of floaters - almost always associated with increased physical activity. Have you had follow up Angio or eye exam with opthalmic specialist? I would want a follow up evaluation if I was in your situation.
I lost 90% of vision in left eye but it was prior to surgery. Still gone due to optic nerve damage from aneurysm.
My aneurysm is on my left anterior carotid ophthalmic artery I had the same surgery back in August and I have had eye pain since before I knew I had an aneurysm (obviously found out that was a symptom of the aneurysm) and I still have almost constant eye pain and I get floaters from time to time as well when I was first diagnosed they did a complete eye exam as far as my eyes the ironic thing is my vision is better in my left eye then it is in my right according to the tests despite floaters the near constant pain and I even get haloing and tunnel vision from time to time so I definitely understand how you feel, have you had an eye exam since your surgery? That might be able to answer some of your concerns. Best of luck
