11days ago I had my 6 month follow up MRI and angiogram, coils and stent look very good and I am so relieved.
I had an allergic reaction to the contrast dye which has now gone but my worry is I feel worse, headaches, vision was getting better now deteriorated a little and very emotional, has anyone else experienced angiogram setting them back, please let me know if you have had this happen to you.Thanks
Since your coils and stent looked good just 11 days ago, your symptoms now probably don’t indicate a problem with those. But your allergic reaction…could that be causing these symptoms even though you think you recovered fully from that? I think you should call your surgeon’s office tomorrow and at least get a nurse on the phone, describe everything and see what he/she says. Get yourself seen if you don’t feel right - you have to trust your instincts and get peace of mind. Best wishes.
sorry you feel unwell this is the exact reason I’m opting out of 6 month angiogram going to request a ct scan instead as I’m feeling better than ever and don’t want a set back best wishes

I had mine a month ago and I too am allergic to the contrast dye. It’s a month on and the headaches and eye pain are easier some days. My consultant said to just give myself time and take it easy on my bad days which you don’t have any choice about. I am starting to feel better which gives you a moral boast.
Hope this helps and hope the symptoms ease soon for you, I think it’s quite common according to what I was told, but if your worried you should mention it
Thank you for your replies it's hard when you take a step back in your recovery as it's such a slow process, my aneurysm was 14mm right para ophthalmic which had damaged the optic nerve so vision will never be the same as before but had begun to improve, pain when bending down and lying down gives a sharp pain in my head.
I think feeling low with the allergic reaction caused me to panic a bit so I will take it one day at a time and take it easy as perhaps been trying to do to much.

Hope you feel better soon Nettie. Wasn’t the contrast used the same in coiling and angio procedures? What were your symptoms?
