Support group

Hi everyone. I have not been posting for a while. June 26 will be five years since my rupture, and this sept will be 3 years for my second. Since then, I have been a main person who leads a support group here in NJ. A year ago, we had 4 maybe 5 people attend. Our last meeting we had 27 people. Survivors and family members. We are growing, and helping others.! What a great feeling. The stories people share really do help. Raising awareness is so important, particularly because the warning signs are so common…headache, nausea. Many thanks to Atlantic Neurospecialists of morristown NJ who supports the group. Partnership of Strenght.

Hi Louise...Good to see a post from you...Congratulations on your Upcoming Annie~Versary's...It is wonderful that you are giving back by starting a support group and growing it...I admire you for how you are helping others...Kudos to you...be sure to continue to take care of YOU...Hugs and Thoughts ~ Colleen

Thank you so much. It is truly helping others cope. Your comments make it all worth it.!

Hi Louise,

Congrats on your upcoming annie-versary and wow! that is quite a accomplishment in organizing an aneurysm support group , nothing easy or simple about that ! Pretty awesome !!

Take care, Janet

omg louise we are twins!! tomorrow is my 5 yr anniversary of a SAH!!! Nice to hear your group is growing, I do support on the forums and chat room here and have too much ptsd to do public speaking but to each their own! Can you believe its been 5 yrs?!!!! my perception of time is really off- it seems im filling the weekly pill case every other day! im about 2 hrs away in pa, if im ever in the area of the support meeting I will give you a shout, tc

Louise...we are so close in time...will be posting soon on that...June 26th was EEG...

Guess mine would be termed a "leak" not a rupture... 3rd ER was a CT-head..."mild ...SAH"...and, by admittance/angio...noted as Grade 1...non-ruptured...

I live too far to continue to our local support group; several of us used to share; two have moved...one lives much farther than me.. I so remember the one who set it up...when, she could not lead a meeting, her hubby would be her fill in...It takes a lot of effort and f/up...your member level is a grand complement/compliment to all you have done...

Pat

Congratulations and woohoo to you for starting a support group. When my nurse suggested a support group I told her no way thinking it would be a bad experience. Instead I came here and have experienced so much positive growth from the awesome people here.

Hi Louise,

Wow what an inspiration! Thanks for sharing the news; I've only had 1, but since I have a genetic pre-disposition, I'm worried about #2. There are so many positive stories on here about more than one aneurysm, and for you to be so helpful to lead a group, amazing story!
