Right eye closed after coiling and stent

I had my coiling with stent procedure last Dec 5. I was out from the hospital last Dec 28. A week after my right eye started to droop like a lazy eye with double vision and it progressed so quickly. Just after a week it closed and wnt open unless I would pull ky eyelid. My neurosurgeon advised to wait for a month. I will have my follow up visit next week. Hope everything is normal. Im very paranoid with my eye and hydrocephalus issues. I cant live like this. This is so depressing.

Good morning! I’ve moved your post to its own topic as the one that you posted in is ten years old or so. Hopefully more members will see this and respond. I haven’t had an eye close but I did have some interesting light shows going on and had lost both sides of peripheral vision for a long time. My regular ophthalmologist said to wait and with every procedure I had to extend the visit times as he didn’t want to check my eyes for several months afterwards.

Did you contact your Neurosurgeon last month or have you yet to have your first follow up appointment? I get confused sometimes. Also, have you contacted a Neuro Ophthalmologist, they may be the one to go to. I never was able to see one. Might ask the Neurosurgeon to get you an appointment. I’m unsure how seeing a specialist works in the Philippines, here where I live I would have had to get my ophthalmologist to make the referral.

I wish you the best of luck and hopefully this will heal sooner rather than later. It is really hard to have to deal with health issues that are problematic. We are here for you!

I’m just thinking of you. So many strange things can come up post aneurysm and surgery. No one you know probably has ever experienced anything like what you’re going through and it can feel lonely. Sometimes it can seem like you’re wandering in the dark trying to figure out what’s going on. I had depression for quite a while after my aneurysm. Be sure to take care of yourself about that also. I’ve had a therapist and a psychiatrist, both of which have been very helpful to me during my recovery. The psychiatrist more so in the beginning of the recovery when I was feeling the most emotional and down.

That is so true. Im always been the positive person but lately ive noticed that everything is sad. I just had my follow up CT scan as well and they found a 17mm thrombosed aneurysm near my previous aneurysm site. My world just turned upside down. I am advised for admission so they can run an angiogram to clearly see whats happening inside. I dont know what to feel and look forward anymore.

Take it one day at a time, Mary. Set yourself with small goals, even if it’s just making the bed first thing in the morning. It starts your day off as an accomplishment. Many people who suffered from depression that I worked with, often let the small things go which leads to the bigger things not being attended to. I would follow @Zunie ‘s advice and seek out someone to speak to. You may have to start with a therapist or Psychologist.
