Recovery after surgery

I had clipping surgery on April 23. I had some complications. my left side ended up having to relearn everything so far, my jaw hurt, my speech was not good, my left eye would not open respond to light. So far my speech is getting better, I can walk by myself, my eye is opening some but everything I see is blurry, double and I get dizzy. I was just wondering if anyone ever had something like this. I go to the eye specialist on July 2 to see what happens next.

Hi Jess

I was coiled and not clipped so I can't answer your question. However, you are early in your Healing journey and it takes time and rest to heal...Keep us posted on your eye Doctor appointment...~ Colleen

Hi Jess,
I was clipped not coiled. It will be a year July 15th. Patience…I carried ear plugs and very dark sun glasses with me until very recently. It takes a while to recover…we are all on different paths. Some of us get there faster than others. Maintain your sense of humor!!! I have had three new prescriptions in almost a year. I could not read for almost three months graduating to my IPad and then large print books. I can now read regular print. I also still carry a memory book. Hope all goes well!!! Is opthomologist familar with anneurysms? All the best!!! Keep in touch. Penny

I had the same eye issues and my speech. My aneurysm ruptured this past thanksgiving 2014. I feel great now still have some head pain from weather changes. I went last week had my eyes checked. I had some issues with the eye on the side they worked on my head. I just got glasses and wow the difference is better. I have to wear them six weeks if my issues don’t improve I have to go back in 6 weeks for them to take another test. I hope the glasses continue to be the fix!

I was clipped 9/26/13. I couldn't open my left eye until almost a month later. I couldn't open my mouth wide enough for anything bigger than peas for a while. The hearing in my left ear was slightly muffled. I think it was due to all the swelling on the left side of my face since that's where it appears my skull was cut. Lighting hurt for a long while. I'm much better with that but can't handle fast moving bright colored commercials or strobe lighting. I wasn't able to read much probable until Jan/Feb. I didn't know I had problems with my equilibrium until I tried driving. I then started working with physical therapy who put me through a series of exercises which quickly improved the dizziness. I was able to pass my driving test in Feb or March. Glad to hear you have an appointment with the eye specialist.

What did the eye specialist tell you? ... Thinking about how you are doing ... ~ Colleen

They said that I am healing well and released me to drive and also waiting on another surgery for my eye cause he thinks it might heal itself by October when my next appt. is. So things are looking up.
