I'm not sure what's wrong with me can anyone relate?

I had a 10mm celebral brain aneurysm that I had clipped in July 2017. 4 days later I had a vasospasm and almost died. After dealing with all of that I found I have a hard time walking, can’t feel my toes on my left foot, I have bad headaches, confusion and it’s worse with rain. The spasms and pain were just in my foot and left leg now it’s happening in all limbs and I can not even stretch without some part of my body going into a spasm. Idk what’s wrong with me and it’s scary. Has anyone been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis after finding their aneurysm or after it was treated? Can anyone relate to what I am going through? My doctors are taking forever to get testing done.

That sounds awfully frustrating and a bit scary. I wish I had answers for you and I hope your Drs give you answers soon.

My prayers are with you…I had my Brain Aneurysm surgery in June of 2005…I still have severe headaches each and every single day and numbness in both of my feet, as well as dizziness and that “off feeling”…Remember Phil 4:14 and Heb 11:1…God Bless, I am here for you…Paul

Thank you for your response. Did anyone ever test you and find out what caused your numbness? Do you have bad muscle spasms as well?

Hey Ashestrue,
Post craniotomy I had all sorts of weird sensations from numbness down one side (right side primarily), tingling in my extremities, temperature issues, muscle spasms, visual and hearing distortions which affect my gait, my balance and dizzy spells etc. etc. etc . The headaches are just beyond measure and these are all a daily thing I have to manage now.
I returned to my surgeon who said “Well, it’s nothing I did…” and I was referred to a whole bunch of differing dr’s/specialists/quacks for examination and tests from opticians to endocrinologists and everything in between, without getting any concrete answers. I was told it could be neuralgia, it could be damage to the hypothalamus, it could be optical, it could be dental, it could be………. They could all have a guess ie It could be ‘x’ or it could be ‘y’, but then I could have a guess just as well as they can.
The endo was possibly the closest I came to an answer (of sorts) “You’ve had brain surgery. What do you expect?.. There’s bound to be side effects” Which wasn’t very helpful, but honest I suppose. If a dr made a suggestion I followed through with it, everything from acupuncture to hydrotherapy to Bowen therapy to Botox etc
After exhausting every avenue open to me to find an answer I have learnt to manage my situation the best way I can. My last surgery was back in 2013 and I have symptoms every day, I cannot tell what is going to happen nor when nor how bad I will be affected. Some days it may just be a progression of the ever present headache, other days I can have the whole gamut of symptoms. I just never know.
I say I have learnt to manage, but I haven’t been able to find the “Magic pill or potion” it really depends on what the day gives me. I have a hydrotherapy pool, which helps, but isn’t the key. I have a whole pharmacy worth of meds, which help but aren’t the key, and a bed in a darkened room which helps but I can’t have a life in bed 24/7. So I have to do a bit of mix’n’match and manage the best way I can for me.

I do hope you find the answers you are looking for. But I do have to say here though, we often go to the dr’s expecting the answers and although some of them do make out they know it all, they don’t. So please be prepared that they may not be able to pinpoint nor remedy your situation and if you are anything like myself you may find it is a case of self management.

So sorry, did not get notified that I had a message (was just checking today)…You are so very welcome…No, I wasn’t tested for the numbness, just told that, that was or is a side affect…Yes, I still get muscle spasms to this day, not fun…I get most of my “treatment” now through the VA, so - not really too good (unfortunately)….I truly wish you luck and send you prayers…
