Cold weather pain/ Headaches from cold & warm fronts/life after 2 years of surgery?

Its been 2 and a half years since my husbands surgery. He gets headaches still, stabbing pains, depression, worry, can tell when a cold front is coming, a warm front with rain, the cold from winter hurts his head also. He is still very moody, tired all the time also. Aneurysms are a family thing and he is horrified about getting another one. I keep telling him to go talk to someone, get on medication for depression but he hasnt gone yet. Can anyone help with all of this. What is the best thing to help him feel better?

Hi Lori...this is so true ... this week I had a two day headache...bad with throwing up...and here we were going from very cold temps in Indianapolis to warmer weather...it is rough, but I feel the alternative is worse...as soon as I feel one coming on I take my feriocet and continue that entire day until I go to back and knock it out ... I feel your husband really needs to see a Neurologist to help with the aid of his bad headaches...which in turn may help is depression...~ gotcha both in my thoughts ~ Colleen

hi lori! I think I am different having had a SAH, I chose to work on/thru it with prayer, music and meditatation rather than meds and counseling but I do recall the nurse on "ask the dr" forum said that cold doesn't affect us since our hardware as they are inside skin and skull. I asked for med to take the edge off and dr ignored request so I just deal with the slight issues of anxiety and sadness-it takes time to deal with it tho so i'll keep him in prayers and you of course -take care I think things will improve~~

If I could get him to go to the doctor. He thinks because he has the headaches and what not he has another aneurysm. He has come on here before to read things but never to talk to anyone. I will have to tell him that I posted something what everyone said. Even I get headaches or even migraines when the weather changes, and I had a fractured skull in a bad car accident years ago and that kind of thing is expected when your skull has been cracked or from a surgery and I told him that. He works in a steel mill and is in the cold when it is cold, when he is home I make sure he wears a stocking hat to keep his head warm. Thanks so much

thank you

I just found out that my HA are from the muscles they cut, growing back... still, after 2.5 years.. It's caused some TMJ issues.. But heat packs and taking it easy on the jaw has really helped.. it's crazy to think that couple years after and we still have stuff growing back together...

My husband still has some problems with his jaw also, opening his mouth sometimes hurts. He still gets swelling in his temple area from his surgery. At work his safety glasses sometimes cut into the swelling also. Wish the doctors would explain to people what all is done when they have surgery and what can result in it. The swelling is doing better now and the squishy feeling isnt as bad either. Healing is just a long process I think.

Thanks REG! Husband is going to the doctor next week for his depression and headaches from weather change. I will definately be checking out that book, even if he doesnt read it, I am sure it will help me. I wish he would get on here and read about what others go through and are dealing with like he is too. I am sure it would help him out alot. Guess I am slowly getting him to get some help with his issues and the future may look a lil brighter for him.
