I had local numbing at groin site only. no other sedation for my angiogram. I experienced a metal taste in my mouth and gold lightening and nubelus reddish colors in my vision when they injected the dye. I also experienced warmth on different places on my face during that time. I did keep my eyes closed during procedure. I did and felt fine. Good luck with yours.
Hi Tania, congrats on your 6 months!! I had my followup angio after 3 months. At one point during the procedure I did feel a sharp pain for some reason and called out, but my neurosurgeon immediately instructed them to give me something in my IV (a painkiller) and I never felt anything else. I asked him at my next appointment what caused that and he said he didn't know, but my annie and stent were perfect.
I have had MRAs since then and just had my 3 year MRA and followup last Oct. and I am still good to go. I would not hesitate to have another angio in the future.
