Yesterday had my 6 month angiogram after PED. So glad to let you all know that the results were wonderful. Completely ocluded, and no entering past the pipeline. This was great news and hope it will give encouragement to those who are waiting for their 6 month checkup. Thanks to everyone who provides continues such great support on this site. It seems that each Dr. is different re. and aspirin. I will take Plavix for three more months every other day, 325mg. aspirin for two years. Then return in two years and change aspirin from 325mg to 81 mg. aspirin indefinitely. Susan
That is fantastic news Susan, I know I felt so relieved after my angiogram to know it was totally occluded. I am no longer on Plavix but take aspirin everyday. I will have another CTA scan next August to totally make sure this horrid little thing is gone.
I hope you are feeling wonderful. Lynn
Susan havent been able to get on the site. So happy to hear your wonderful NEWS.
Thank You, Denise. Know you were wanting to hear from someone who had been for the 6 month angio. Hope all is well with you.
Susan
Thanks, Lyn. Hope you continue to feel well.

Praise the Lord! God is good! I am so happy to hear your progress! May I ask, why do you have the need to continue the blood thinner every other day for 6 months more and 325 mg. aspirin for an additional 2 yrs?
Thank you for your message. I'm sorry, but I don't know why that regiment was given me. However, it does seem that, from messages on this site, each neurosurgeon has different time periods for continuing blood thinners and aspirin.
Susan
You are right depending on your situation meds regimen is different. I hope all goes well with your continual treatment. My surgeon said that after 6 months, he will take me off from the blood thinner and leave me with only aspirin. I hope he doesn’t change it, if he does it’s for my good,
Hello Susan,
Congratulations! I am so happy for you and which you the best. Did your doctor stop the Meds before taking the Angiogram once your 6 months were up? How well did you do with bleeding of the groin? I have heard that some doctors stop the meds after 6 months and wait about 1-2 months and then do the angiogram?
My Dr. did the angiogram and then made the changes in medication. I didn't have any problems with bleeding afterward. However, I do recall one of the nurses saying that they were holding the pressure on the groin a little longer. I remained on my back the four hours. I haven't heard of stopping the meds and doing the angio, but if there was concern about bleeding I can see where that would be done.
I am so glad you didn’t have any problems with bleeding, but just needed a little of patience lying on your back that long, it will work for me! I am just concern because on the day of my surgery, I had to have a blood transfusion because the nursing staff couldn’t stop the bleeding, it was not until a nurse who graciously had the enough patience to hold pressure and stop it but blood was lost and needed replacement. I hope when I have my angio, I will have a great nursing staff who will do the same.
