How often do you scan and what size and location is your aneurysm?
Anyone know if the scanning schedule changes for long term stable aneurysms, like over 5+ years?

I hope some of our members who haven’t ruptured reply. I’m in the ruptured group and we have different schedules for imaging. I think your group is scanned every six months for a couple years and then it’s extended to once a year and so forth, very similar to what we get. It’s really going to be up to the particular surgeon.
My scans were scheduled yearly or sooner if I had headaches or dizziness. My aneurysm was a 2 in the Circle of Willis. I was originally told I wouldn’t need surgery until I reached a 10 but when problems arose due to stress it was decided to have surgery when I reached 5.
My aneurysms- left ICA 8mm coiled 8/23. left supraclinoid ICA 2x4 wait and watch.
Also reported was a 4mm outpouching at the distal right A1 segment, but during the angio pre-coil procedure, radiologist said it’s just tortuous vasculature rather than a true aneurysm.
However, as i get my f/u MRA’s, radiologists keep putting that one as a true aneurysm in my report, so i have to bug them to addend the report.
I digress:
I had an MRA 1 month after coiling
6 months after, another MRA
1 year later MRA
My radiologist told me to get another one in a year. If stable, next MRA will follow in 2 yrs.
