Unruptured Aneursym

I agree with Carole - Make a list of pro & cons - I agree the thought of having this inside my brain and not knowing when and if it will rupture is torture. However every procedure has its risks. The angiogram its self has risks. I decidedd to go ahead with the angiogram so I could know for sure if I had one or two and exact size and location. I am glad I did. But now Ive been struggling with the decision to wait & watch or treat. I prayed alot for guidance. The risks of treating are currently too much for me and much more overwhelming then living with it. Although it can and probably would go smoothly - I didnt want the possible risks of stroke, being out of work, having "off" or "foggy braindays, headaches and the constant follow up with doctors (im sick of them now!) plus being on medicine for months maybe years. After reading and researching I decided for me the best choice was to wait & watch.

If in a year it has grown I will absolutely get it treated but for now there is nothing wrong with me :)

I am taking it one day at a time and hope over time the thought of this annie is not on my mind everyday. I have faith it will get easier and I will get the chance to take care of it when I am ready.

Thank you very much for that I appreciate the knowledge and prayers more than you know

that is a excellent way of looking at it Thank you

Im on it allready lol

Very well put Lyn ....May God bless and keep you safe.. Good advise I agree. Thats what Im doing also, but each of us have diffrent doctors with diffrent Ideas it can be a hard decision sometimes

.

I was just diagnosed last month with 3 aneurysms a 9mm, 5 mm and a 3mm and have since found out I also an AVM. I have an angiogram scheduled for this Wednesday. It is a very scary situation but I think I probably will go for the surgery because I can't live my life wondering if or when a rupture will happen.

Well mine is located behind my right eye by my right temple around there :/

It will be ok. Angiogram will confirm best course of action for you. I’ve had 7 of them so far. I have a 33mm unruptured aneurysm on my right postanterior artery between my thalamus and hypothalamus. It’s been almost two years post coiling surgery. I still deal with Neuro Fatigue band have put on some weight but God willing will be going back to the best job in the world, airline pilot by September. All my doctors are confident with my miraculous recovery and that it didn’t burst. So hopefully back in the air soon. The FAA has a mandatory 2 year wait from the time of the event.

Welcome to BAFsupport! It’s great that you found us and even better that you’ve worked out some of the features of the site.

The one thing I’d like to caution you on is that the site has been around in one form or another for a long time and the questions that you answered today were asked 9 years ago. So, I expect people will have moved on in the meanwhile. The system should prompt you when you’re answering a long-quiet conversation, so when it does, think about how relevant your contribution will be.

It would be great if you fancy starting your own topic, introduce yourself and tell us how you are getting on.

Welcome on board!
