Size of ruptured aneurysym

Hey all!

Hope everyone is doing well! Out of curiosity, I wanted to know if you would be willing to share the size of your aneurysm if it has/had ruptured?

I have a 1.5mm unruptured one with the chance that another one is in the process of forming they just can’t tell for sure yet. We will be monitoring and I know everyone is different but for my own research as time goes on and when I will feel like I want to intervene again.

Thank you as always!

5mm multilobed at LICA bifurcation. Dr. Q-W stopped counting at 24 daughter sacs, so my guess more. She also said this type with so many daughter sacs are very rare, rupture and the person usually doesn’t make it, Another doc in NSICU said that for them to say my brain suffered a lot of damage would be an understatement but yet here I am.

Hi @tahara05!

My rupture was a surprise, so I can only give the afterwards numbers.

I was left with a 1.3mm x 2 mm aneurysm on my left PICA in June 2023, but it grew to a 2 mm x 2.5 mm by October 2024 (per my notes, but I recall it was actually reported as 2.8 mm after the pipeine flow diverter placement).

I know! Tiny compared to many of you, and in a more unusual spot! My neuroradiologist is the one who recommended rereating, and IMHO, his word goes, so I was thrilled to not have to fret about it.

Hope that helps and that you are healing well. Let us know what else we can do to support you!

Incidental finding. One was 8mm, which was cooled in August, and one next to it is 3mm. Watch and wait when I get my annual MRA next week.
LICA ophthalmic segment. No issues following coils. Fingers crossed. :crossed_fingers:

Mine ruptured and was 16.4mm behind my right eye 4 coils the first go around when I was flown into Inova. Stent put in on second go around it dropped no fault of Dr the stent just had to be put in a like curve or a neck of the artery and it didn’t take holt so had clipping the 3rd time. All is well now besides some memory loss, balance issues, anxiety and some occasional headache but thank god everyday I wake up. My neurosurgeon said I am so lucky. Good luck to you

I also have had problems with headache since surgery. When i lay down i get a headache. I hated taking ibuprofen every night. My accupuncturist gave me a bottle of a Chinese herbal supplement for headaches called Revive JIA WEI XIAO YAO WAN. I have not had anymore headaches since I started taking them.
