I am about 2 years post surgery and the journey has been a little rough (although not unexpected). For the most part, I am back to doing all the things I was doing pre-Aneurysm but my main “challenge” was short term memory. Long term appears to be in tact but short term was affected. Through time, I learned some things that improved it such as board games (specifically Chess) and doing cross-word puzzles. Also doing things that I used to do with my wife, such as helping her prep dinner ) cutting the veggies, washing her car, taking her car to fill up the gas on Sunday before the start of the workweek. These weren’t specifically told to me by my Doctors, but doing my own research led me to find these. Also, doing things you used to do, such as driving certain routes, talking with friends about “life” is helpful and helps the brain create new pathways. My wife and I have seen a lot of improvements in my short term memory.
