I had a ruptured aneurysm with coiling. It messed with my brain a lot and 18 mths later Im still struggling with this damn brain of mine and the effects. But they also found 2 other aneurysms and one was treated with coiling with stent 6 months after my rupture. It was a huge difference. only a short stay in hospital and I did develop daily constant headaches for a few months afterwards, which I was warned about (due to the stent), but eventually they went away. apart from that I would say it was pretty straight forward, and nothing like the rupture effects. You do need to take things easy until the bruising has gone, but it's good they have given you so much recovery time, but you may find a few weeks later, you will be good to go. I had no deficits from the second coiling of the unruptured annie. It is minimally invasive, but imo, it's just not very traumatic to the brain unlike a rupture. since my rupture Ive felt like someone took an egg whisk and scrambled my brain so it's all messed up and I can't unscramble it (so far). stay positive and you will be fine.
Hey Gerry! I followed sharong - rupture and then coiling of second aneurysm. It was a walk in the park for hospital stay - one night compared to 26. Either way it’s important to stay hydrated and get enough protein in to heal the brain. Still a little scary, until they really did release me the next day. Talk to your Dr about any special diet or restrictions. Good luck to you!
Thanks for your feedback, the more info I have, the more prepared I will
mine. Will keep updating!
Gerry
