Question post craniotomy

Hello beautiful family,
I have a question for all those who have had clipping. The ear on the same side as my clipping had a lot of blood and pain after surgery. Now almost 2 months after I am still having pain and finding blood (not as much). Did anyone else deal with this?

Hi Mary...it is good to see you post...and I was coiled...not clipped...so no help...but I do feel you need to consult your Doctor if you are still having blood and pain in your ear...continued healing thoughts your way ~ Colleen

Hi Mary,

Is the blood dried blood from inside your ear left over from surgery or new blood possibly draining from surgery site? New blood would be a concern and I would like to echo Colleen, it would be a good idea to consult with your surgeon. I still have pain three years later, be it not like the weeks and months post craniotomy which is all related to the muscles being cut the area above and in front of the ear and the craniotomy.

Hi Mary-

I had a clipping. I did not experience bleeding after leaving the hospital. I did experience different pains for a awhile. I felt zingers (that's what the doc called it). They were shooting, random, but often quick pains. The other pain was the nerve endings healing. If you are still bleeding, please check with your doctor.

It is great to see you posting, I have missed you!! Yes, I agree with survivors, please do call your doctor. Haha...during my recovery I bounce a lot of issues off the Neurosurgeon Nurses. I haven't had ear pain directly, more jaw and eye pain on my clipping side. Did you discuss this ear issue at your Post Op appointment? Please update us with what you find out from the Doctor.

Hi Mary !

Great to see you ! No, i never had any problems with blood after either of my clippings..Maybe it wouldn't hurt to ask your doctor about this. always best to be safe and "in the know" . Take care,

My incision site is very similar to yours. Apparently the blood did run into my ear and there was so much that the dried blood is causing my inner ear pain. It is happening less and less so it should be cleared out soon. Thank you! Prayers for your continued healing.
