Hi everyone.
Today one year ago I had my aneurysm rupture in the morning after breakfast. It hit me out of the blue and I was alone at home but thankfully I was talking to one of my sons on the phone when it happened. It happened so fast! My husband was alerted and came home, the ambulance came and took me to our local hospital, a CT scan was made and I was life lifted by helicopter to a hospital with neurosurgery. My internal carotid artery was coiled the same afternoon. I came home two weeks later and it took me a while to get back. My aneurysm needed a stent and more coils and I decided to go ahead and get it done. That was six months ago. I’m not completely back to my old self, but I am almost back , being a little more tired and I need more sleep. But I can live a good life with that. I’m physically active, have always been and I walk around the neighborhood three miles five days a week. My husband thinks I am my “old self “ even if I need more sleep. I feel a little bit different, it’s hard to describe, but something has changed. I have tried to get back to as much normal activities as possible to try to have something positive to think about. My longtime hobby as a watercolor painter has really helped me a lot. Today I met with some friends at a local park and started to paint. It was a good day to be out and not sitting at home being sad. I’m alive with no major neurological problems. I will have my follow up angiogram next week and I hope to get a positive report. I hope this can help someone else who is going through the same thing. This community has helped me a lot just reading what others have gone through.

@oct20 a wonderful survival story! I’m glad you’re here with us. You’re a remarkable person, you’ve helped quite a bit of folks here, which is what our group is all about. Thank you so much for everything you’ve contributed. Hope your angiogram comes back with everything fixed!
Happy days for more painting adventures!
