Good morning,
My name is Carlie. I’m 34 yrs old and live in South Texas. On December 11th, I went to the ER with stroke-like symptoms which ended up just being a bad migraine. While I was there they did a CT, MRI, and MRA and discovered two aneurysms. One is near my optic nerve behind my left eye and is 10mm. The other one is on the right side at the back of my head and is about 4mm. Since then we have made the 4 hour drive to Houston twice, first to meet with the neurosurgeon and the last time to have an angiogram done. I will return to Houston on January 30th to have a PED (pipeline procedure) placed for the 10mm aneurysm. My neurosurgeon mentioned after 6 months, he will “try” to coil/stent the 4mm aneurysm. He mentioned the blood vessels being smaller so not able to put in PED with that one. He said if coiling/stenting doesn’t work, I’ll have to have a craniotomy.
Sorry to hear about your misfortune but a least they were found before they ruptured. There is a lot of info out there about when waiting, coiling, and clipping are necessary but each case is different. Trust in your doctors and educate yourself.
