Am worried that my headache for three days now, with numbess and tingling in my right hand and fingers means my ‘repaired’ and coiled aneurysm is leaking. My NP is on vacation but should I try contacting my surgeon or another NP? The head pain is barely better today but the numbness in my right hand just started. The pain is in the right rear of my head and neck. The aneurysm was/is right in the middle and in front of the brain stem.
hi Terry! yes i agree with jo - especially if numbness is a new event or gets worse- i'd call the surgeons office, the nurses will be happy to discuss and/or report it to the dr. We must be our own advocates. Keeping you in thoughts & prayers!
I agree with Jim...if no Doctor...go to an ER immediately...~ Colleen
Thanks all. Just got back from the ER. CT was OK, no leaking but no explanation as to why I have such a bad headache either. The ER was packed and if I wanted to wait for a bed I could’ve gotten a morphine shot. The pain subsided a bit so I came home. All I really wanted to know was if I was having or just had a mild stroke or if It was leaking. No to both. Going to lie down now. Thanks again.
That's wonderful news Terry. You might start to feel better now that you have peace of mind. I'm happy for you. Take care and Happy New Year!

Terry,
My neurologist said that coils can become compacted just the smallest bit and will cause leaking which then causes side effects. This may be what you are experiencing and you should call them immediately so they can properly check the coils. Good luck and hope all is well.

Finally! After three CT scans and two MRIs plus nine days of a 24 hour a day headache, the new meds have kicked in. What a relief!. The continual head pain was exhausting. Will continue the new meds (percocet and dilaudid) and have started some light neck exercises that also seem to help. Thanks for all your suggestions.
