It is indeed a blessing to be able to write and let you know that I just celebrated my 55th year as a survivor of a ruptured PCA and that my sister has celebrated her 5th year. We both had miraculous recoveries! We are now enjoying being retirees yet dealing with the health challenges that come with aging.
I pray for all those who are post-surgery or are about to undergo surgery. May you be blessed with complete recoveries.
Ms. Carole, I love reading about your anniversaries! You’ve been such a big help to me over the years. Congratulations to you and your sister! Hope your son is doing well, I remember you saying he was a big part of your recovery.
As a fellow ruptured PICA person, I am so proud to look to you as my role model! Indeed, we are all VERY blessed, and I am so happy for both you and your sister that you are here with us!
Carole, thank you for your uplifting positivity. Congratulations on reaching an incredible 55 years after your ruptured PCA - it’s truly inspiring. Best wishes to your sister as well on her own journey!
Thanks for your kind words. However you mixed me up with someone else. I do not have a son.
My recovery was a true miracle. Thanks be to God! I did not need very much help with my recovery. I walked out of the hospital on my own. Doctors still find this hard to believe. From the first day, I was able to climb stairs, which was good, since we had a two story house. About a month later, and without any formal rehab, I was taking buses and subways to travel around Philadelphia on my own.
I pray that I’ll be able to give another update this time next year.
