I'm new here

Hello everyone. I'm new here and listed my status as "survivor". I say that because I have 2 unruptured aneurysms that I will be receiving treatment for next Monday, and I intend to survive. Does that count as being a survivor? I already feel very fortunate to have found them before they ruptured. Doc says he will stent both and then go back in a few weeks with the coiling. Don't mind saying I was scared to death to hear that I am going to be awake for these procedures. Is this common....to be awake? What benefits are there?

Hi Adrianne and again Welcome to BAF ~

~ And yes...you are a "Survivor"...

I didn't have stents placed...I was only coiled so I was put under anesthesia...

I am sure they will give you something to be very relaxed...when the stents are placed with an angiogram...talk to your Doctor about what can be done to keep you as relaxed as possible...~ CyberThoughts your way ~ Colleen

Hi Adrianne,

I know nothing about coiling but wish you all the luck in the world!

I think it's great that you have such a positive attitude that your listed as a survivor :-)

Thoughts, prayers & positive thinking for you. ((hugs))
