I dont know how to feel!

Hi everyone,
My name is Tammy and I just celebrated my 50th birthday. A week later, my husband had to have 2 heart stents put in, and all the while I’ve been walking around in a haze. Not able to get the thoughts in my mind out of my mouth. Thinking I’m going crazy, constantly having a headache and most times its unbearable (the headaches have been constant for months).
One week after that, I went to the local ER, just feeling totally exhausted. It started with them treating me for chest pain, and when the bloodwork came back it showed that I needed a CT scan for a pulmonary embolism. Its determined that anything above an 0.5 your at risk for having one, my bloodwork came back as 3.92. After I constantly complained of headaches to the CT tech, she pulled the doctor aside and he came in again and decided to do a head CT as well. He came in a while later telling me he’d found an 8mm unruptured cerebral aneurysm on the left side. As of now, that’s all I know. He said there was no leak and to contact the Specialist in Indianapolis to decide the next course of treatment. The problem is he hasn’t gotten back to me despite multiple calls. His office tells me that as soon as they get a chance to talk to him they will let me know an appointment time. My primary doctor has been on vacation, so I have been unable to get any kind of information as to where exactly the annie is. I’m scared and relieved to know that I’m not going crazy because I have been symptomatic for months. But now I’m wondering what I need to be doing next. Any ideas until I can talk to my doctor? I’ve been reading online to learn more about aneurysms but not knowing where its located, just make researching useless. I’m worried about my family and the long term consequences it will have on them. The ER doctor wouldn’t give me pain medicine for the constant pounding headaches because he wants me to be able to feel if it gets worse. Any suggestions on how to relieve this constant pounding pain in my head?

First of all it’s very important to calm down . Stress you have been going through can cause those headaches . You should have follow up with your primary doctor after ER? If you have trouble to contact the neurosurgeon office , probably it’s a wrong number , or get another referral from your therapist . You need to be insisting for urgent appointments, referrals . I know it looks like everything happening at the same time :frowning: .

Right now perhaps the most important to focus ( I know the whole frustration and fears in the beginning ) on yourself , on getting in the care and control of the specialists . Please get nessesary appointments scheduled .

Thank you for the words of encouragement…its so frustrating not knowing what is going on. I am going to contact primary doctor first thing in the morning.

I would find another Neurologist or just find a neuro surgeon. Once you make the appointment you will have to get the disk from the CT and take it to your new appointment. Some doctors play around. You don’t need that. But you need to calm down, get as much rest as you can. Eating and drinking berries help with your risk of rupture. And please don’t strain yourself by lifting or over working your body. You will get through this. I know it’s scary but I’m sure you are strong and can make it thru this. Feel free to message me anytime if you need someone to talk to. Hopefully you get into a doctor soon.

How you have been feeling ? Any progress in scheduling your appointments?

I seen the neurosurgeon on 10/23. I now know that it is a 8mm left supraclinoid ICA aneurysm. He has ordered a PET Scan to determine whether he will clip or coil my annie. The scan will be done on 11/8. I will keep the group updated on the findings and the date surgery will be scheduled. Thank you all for the concerns.
