Headaches after coiling

Has anyone had pain in their head only where the coiling is? I had one a few weeks ago for a couple of days only where my coil is located. I was under a huge amount of stress at the time

My coiling is in the back of my head...on the tip of my neck...and I often get bangs in it...esp right before one of my bad headaches...if it continues and you are greatly concerned, consult your Doctor...Keep us posted on how you are doing ~ Colleen

What do you mean bangs?

Typo ... sorry Amy... I meant "pangs"...

I guess what scared me was that I’d never really suffered a lot of headaches. One of the lucky one I guess. My coil is at the base of my brain. Sounds like ours is close to the same spot. Thanks Colleen

I did and it eventually goes away. My surgery was Jan 18, I still have headaches and can fel where the coil and stint were placed. When I get upset or irritated I can feel that exact spot!! The doctor will say you shouldn’t but you can I did!! Hope that you are doing well flyer your surgery and good luck-you can do it!’

Amy I had a re-coiling of an aneurysm on Jan 7th and a stent. I still get quite a severe pain in my head each morning when I wake up and I have also noticed that I get a pain in my head right where the coiling is at times. It seems to correspond with times of stress.

Yes, I get pain. Still getting some 13 months out. Some is nerve irritation pain, but I also get migraine like pain when I do too much thinking! It is behind my eye, which is exactly where my coils are. My surgeon and radiologist warned me of the pain and both were noncommittal when I asked how long it would last. I hardly ever take analgesics now, but still never have an entirely pain free day.

Also, wanted to add Amy...you are early in your healing... and headaches seem to be bad the first 6 months or so... now I get them about once a month... and if there is a drastic change in weather...

just know it does and should get better...~ Wishing you a nice Valentine's ~ Colleen
