Having 2 stents put in.has any on else that can help me
I had two of my aneurysms coiled and stented last June 28th 2012. I'll be happy to try and answer anything you have questions about:)
Hi Sandy! I am also Sandy! I had a clipping in Jan. of this year , and was stented another anni in May. It is in my ophthalmic artery I think. Behind my left eye. He put a stint in, then reinforced with another stint. I had a rough couple weeks 10 days after the stint. It was an expected headache, that my surgeon said would come. From the anni losing blood supply, and shrinking. It was bad. Other than that, and some pain in my eye orbit, from one or both surgeries, I did well. I have trouble staying on task, and get quick sharp pains in my head... but if that is the worst I have, I am gratefull! Good Luck!

Cancer... They found my annis when I was getting diagnosed with follicular lymphoma! I am 54 yrs old. I am in remission now.
My first coiling I had a stent....it's all very scary how can I help?
Sandy...are the two stents of the Pipeline? Or, stents related to coiling and/or dissections of the artery walls?

I have 9 coils and one stent and will be given another stent May 2014 shorty after next MRA . I was given stents because he couldn't completely fill my annie with the coils . I was on plavix and 325 aspirin for 6 moths following stent then he dropped the plavix and the aspirin down to a baby aspirin which i'll take for the rest of my life .
Sandy I had 2 stents placed in may 2012, they are telescoped inside each other as my annie was large, on my ICA. It was fully occluded at my 6 month angiogram, I have just had a CTA and all that can be seen is the stent the annie is totally gone. Recovery from having stent is very quick.
That makes me feel better.How long were you in the hospital and out of work?
I will go on Plavix and asprin 3 weeks before and stay on 3 months after

I was only in hospital for 3 days, ICU for the first 24 hours, which is usual. I could have returned to work about 3 weeks later, but I decided to take early retirement and spend some time at home with my grandson and now my new granddaughter. I do casual work occasionally. I did suffer from a lot of stress which was not good, but I am fine now. Mine is an hereditary condition I lost a brother years ago, and since mine was discovered my sister has been diagnosed with 2.
I did very well thank God I haven't had any problems w/ it. They knew ahead of time that the right side carotid artery would have to be coiled AND stented, however; they weren't expecting that the left side carotid artery would have to coiled and STENTED as well. The coiling they knew-but obne they got in there-it was too large (wide neck) to only have the coilings.
I had two stents and coils in April/May. Except for headaches, no problems. Go back next week for follow up angiogram as mine were very complex and wants to check in 3 months. Headaches finally better after 2+ months.
I had 2 Pipeline stents put in almost 3 weeks ago. I have had a few attempts at going back to work, but have had to take more time. My neaurosurgeon says the surgery was a success, and I am feeling better, but it has taken longer than I expected to start getting my energy back.
