I am sorry to read that you had a problem with the implanation of the PED stent.
Let me first say that I was unable to find anything under the first website link as it came up "not found".
The 2nd link I was able to bring up after I took out the number "2" that you placed before the website address.
After reading the 2nd study, I noted that the study indicated:
"Angiographic follow-up in 19 patients with 25 aneurysms showed 21 complete occlusions, one neck remnant, and three incomplete occlusions. No significant parent artery stenosis was seen. CONCLUSION: This study shows that the Pipeline stent is useful for EVT of fusiform and wide-necked intracranial aneurysms. Moreover, the stent is well tolerated with a low rate of intra-stent stenosis at short-term follow-up. However, technical improvements are needed to ensure safe and precise use of the device."
Nineteen patients, with 21 out of 25 complete occlusions is a huge winner in my book.
Unfortunately, not every device will work 100 percent of the time for 100 percent of people. It is unfortunate that you had this happen to you. We do have a group here where over 100 members have had the Pipeline Embolization Device placed with little or no side effects (mostly headaches and anxiety).
I invite you to join our group which can be found here: PED Group and read the many successful stories of PED implantation.
