I find gardening to be the ultimate way for me to relax. I thought maybe that had changed after I ruptured, but no, my love for watching things grow is still there. And I am once again enjoying weeding! Instead of pulling a weed with certain person or colleague in mind, I pull a weed with a negativity I see in myself. For me, this is a way to acknowledge and toss, getting over it and focusing on what I define as beautiful.
And because I searched, I share :). http://health.usnews.com/health-news/blogs/eat-run/2012/08/27/got-five-minutes-meditate-in-a-garden
So the question to the group is Where have you found a garden you can meditate in? Share pictures or links if it’s a public garden…who knows, someone may not know about the garden near them.
hi! i cant do much but im doing the patio thing where you cut open the bag of dirt and seed or plant right in the bag, i too love to grow things, also im looking into building the tower composter planter, tc
Ron, My neighbor did that with tomatoes and boy did she get a slew of them! They ran everywhere.
Look into straw bale gardening Here’s the link http://strawbalegardens.com. Also if you Google it, both Bonnie plants and Miracle Gro have information as well as a lot of other sites. I was able to get over 45 pounds of sweet potatoes out of five bales. I did buy the slips when they were on sale at our local hardware store. For me, it’s easier to not have to dig them up and I am able to stand to train the vines up the wires. Ohana even helped tip them over. I will have two permanent spots in my garden for straw bale gardening, everything else has to come up to 18". If I could find wet bales for free, I’d be really happy
I only have a patio, which is now full of flowers. It fills me with joy to watch the colours of the climbing flowers, leaving in a south European country we are so lucky, flowers are blooming nearly all the time and are full of perfumes. It does relax the mind.
f/u on the tower , we made one for about 12 $!! the ones you buy are 300-500$ ridiculous! its working! the center tube has the compost and holes worms go in and out of small holes and the worm castings make great fertilizer in the form of "tea" its collected at the bottom and goes out a spigot, you water the plants with the tea!! happy gardening!
