Does anyone know

Does anyone know if this angiogram is going to be as bad as the first one ?Will I have to be admitted into the hospital.

Im not sure what you mean by "as bad as the first one" ? Did you have a bad experience with it? I had angio, ct, mri, angioplasties when I had the rupture but dont remember them, I had a follow up angio in december and I went in early in the morning, and was sent home late the same day so it was done as a day procedure. I think I could have gone home earlier in the afternoon if I hadnt been on blood thinners because they seemed to have trouble stopping blood oozing from the incision for a long time so it took quite a few hours until I could even sit up, but I didnt have to stay overnight

Hi Jeanette. When my mom has had her follow up angiograms, they are done as an outpatient procedure. She arrives early in the morning and is discharged during the afternoon. In her experiences, she has to lay flat in the recovery room for several hours while being monitored (they do allow family back with her for recovery) before being discharged. Best wishes.

Yes I had a very bad experience with the angiogram. Lots of head pain and the part of staying still for 6 hrs is the worse. I couldn’t open my eyes until the next day. I am hoping that this angio goes smooth Nd I can go home. Do you think if I’m in so much pain they will not let me go home. Another thing is can I go up stairs I have lots of stairs to get to my bedroom…Thanx for taking the time out to respond

I don't think anyone can predict, jeannette, but I hope this one goes more easily for you. Let us know how it goes, okay?

Jeanette- I hope you have a better time this go round. With mine I have gotten to the hospital early in the morning. Lay flat 6 hrs the slowly work my way to sitting up & then walking. Then typical for me everything goes great until they say I can leave. Then I turn pale and almost pass out. This is all after I’ve done everything slow and easy. I’m looking good and ready to go. Then I have a sinking spell. Craziest thing. I tell the nurses I do it to keep them on their toes!

Oh my Myra sorry to hear that. Did they leave you in the hospital? What caused you to feel faint.

after my december angio I felt a bit messed up and asked the nurse if I could get a wheelchair so my husband could take me to the car park. They called an orderly to wheel me down and out of the hospital but he dumped me out on a bus bench while my husband went to the car park and drove around to pick me up. it was pretty tough walking and even just standing without swaying around but I did have an injection to relax me and I had only 5 hours sleep the night before so I put it down to that. It would have taken me an hour to make it out of the hospital at the pace I was walking lol. So if you dont feel good after, see if they can get a wheelchair for you to get to your car.

Thank you so much for all your support and kind words …

There was no reason. it had been plenty of time and i was headed out the door. Guess my body said " oh no you need to lay down a while."
