❤ AWARENESS ❤ AWARENESS ❤ AWARENESS ❤ It WORKS :)!

I wanted to share the most wonderful story I heard tonight while out with a great friend catching up on Life! We ran into another friend of mine who shared a story with me, knowing that I survived thru a rupture of an undiagnosed AVM 3 years ago. A few weeks ago, his neighbor came running out of his house yelling for help saying his wife was holding her head in excruciating pain. He immediately went over to help, called 911 telling them that she had all the symptoms of a ruptured Aneurysm & when they got to their local Hospital, there was a Helicopter waiting for them and immediately transported her into Boston! I'm just overjoyed to tell you that she's made a full recovery and all because of the ★Awareness★ that we, as a group, are just so passionate about! Hearing this story and of this woman's remarkable recovery made for the most WONDERFUL night for me and made me realize that creating ★Awareness ★ certainly does help to save lives; so lets keep this movement moving forward and PLEASE be sure to let your voice be heard ❤:)!

Michele...that is fabulous...

Hi Michele. I hope you are well. What an inspirational story of Awareness! Which can make the difference of life and death. It seems still a surprised to me, that most people are unaware of what a brain aneurysm is? I’m always asked, “what’s wrong with me?” When I’m seen with a cane. When I replied " I had a ruptured aneurysm." People, are puzzled, to what that is? I sometimes, have gone into a long explanation, according to the circumstances… Michele, I’m glad you had a wonderful night, knowing that by you paying it forward, and creating awareness. What a difference, to someone’s life that has made! Kudos Michelle. Keep on, keeping on spreading the word! God bless.

Great share, thank you.

Thank You Kimlin. Giving God ALL the Glory for using us and our Trial as a voice to help spread awareness and May our voices always be heard...AMEN ✞

My husband diagnosed me - no, he’s not a dr - before the paramedics arrived. Unfortunately the ER I was taken to didn’t necessarily agree and waited 4 hours before seeing a dr who ordered a CT scan. By golly, it was a ruptured aneurysm! My very vocal complaints to the hospital got us a meeting with a number of high - ranking execs. After many apologies for the poor treatment I got at their facility, they let me know that as I exhibited no symptoms other than the mother of all headaches and light sensitivity, I was at the bottom of the critical list of patients and had to wait until someone had time to see me. As a result of my case specifically, policies and ER procedures were changed. It’s now SOP that all ER patients are seen within 5 minutes. Something good came from my bad experience.

I’ve since heard that every medical personnel will know what’s wrong when a patient presents with symptoms like mine. Unfortunately, I know that’s not the case.

And by the way, I have made an amazing recovery!

So wonderful to hear you've made an amazing recovery ShawnHR --- Hope there is always :))!!! Your husband and Your unfortunate experience not only saved your life but sounds like the life of many others as well given the awareness YOU went on to create by talking with the execs --- Kudos to YOU Both and thanks for sharing this!!!

thank you Michele- I was totally unaware, the only thing I knew were 2 people who died of a b/a rupture so I didn't get the whole awareness concept since I just collapsed and had no clue a stomach ache could be a SAH!! But thanks to you all at baf I "get it" now!, tc have a nice weekend!

It is great to read this...you were blessed...and, to see change...in some hospital...

It seems like anytime symptoms are head related...(ischemic stroke, may include the limbs, too???)... patients should not be given pain pills and pushed out the door...refused testing ...

it could be an aneurysm, AVM, ischemic stroke, and, more...not just an insignificant 'headache'...

I had 3 ER over 29 days...saw PCP 3 days after the first;...Saw orthopedic docs to fix my fractured right shoulder (re: black-out/syncope) ... My first ER entry record noted "black-out"...they only geared on a fractured arm/shoulder...pain pills stopped any other thinking/doing... I learned later, they even gave me the N/V med...

Another local peer I met 5 years later...also had two ER in a week...a diff, but local hospital...and, she had been asking her PCP about her headaches... testing was planned...tho not efficiently...

What bothers me tremendously...is that the BAF / other stats note that apx 10-15% die before reaching med care...There are NO stats on how many of us have had multiple ER's and/or PCP's who do not order proper/complete testing...

Thank you for sharing your success...we need to know it - practice it...to possibly achieve success in securing changes...
