Anyone have dizzy spells caused by brain aneurysm

I still have my 9mm aneurysm, but I have dizzy spells that cause me to fal to the floor. My balance is bad. I havent had my pipeline surgry yet.
Is this common for brain aneurysms?

I'm not sure if it's common for annie's, I get complex migraines that cause all sorts of weird things to happen. They can even mimic a stroke and send my blood pressure through the roof making stroke a high risk of course. I would definitely call your dr though and let them know the problems you're having. Maybe they can move the date of your PED up?

2.5 years post rupture and I still get dizzy and have balance issues sometimes. Today would be one of the bad days for me in that regard. However I didn't get dizzy prior to the rupture even though the aneurysm was there. As Melissa said, I am not sure if this is a strange headache or some issue from the rupture. I think only your doctor and time will tell in your case. Best of luck to you!

Hi Dawn I have had dizzy spells and balance issues since my coiling...however, my coiling hasn't been 100% successful so I still have my anuerysm...I was tested for inner ear problems, etc., My neurologist told me all of the problems are due to the aneurysm and CNS disorders caused by it...so I am wondering since you haven't had your surgery yet, perhaps it is causing these problems...please talk to your Doctor about what is going on ... perhaps you should have the procedure sooner than later...~ keep us posted ~ Gotcha in my Thoughts ~ Colleen

Plavix and asprin did this to me which they placed me on prior to my surgery. Not sure if you're on medication. Do talk to your surgeon however.

hi Dawn i had severe dizzyness 3 yrs post sah upon lying down and arising- the dr didnt give me anything for it and thankfully it went away! i guess it was inner ear infection??not sure. i have to walk and put hand on the walls sometimes-Take care, we'll keep you in our thoughts& prayers! ps-when you get your surgery date please post in upcoming procedure group- at the top or write a discussion in forum and many can pray for you!c u round!

I also get dizzy or feel very unstable. However, I have had 5 different doctors tell me it is unlikely the aneurysm is causing this. I don' t know if I believe them or not. Seems like too many of us have these symptoms. The investigation of this is what led to the discovery of the aneurysm. I'm still hoping the symptoms get better after coiling Jan. 25.

I was so so dizzy that I went to the ER and that was when they found my aneurysms. They hadn't ruptured but I did need to have them taken care of. My surgeon told me that aneurysms wouldn't cause the dizziness but the funny thing is I haven't had any dizziness since my clippings 7 months ago. I personally think they don't know everything about them yet.

I have talked to one of my specialists about it and he just kind of blew it off like it wasn't important. So I am hoping it will get better after the surgery. Seems like my dizzy spells and fatigue is getting worse all the time. They should be calling me anytime now to schedule. Im so nervous, but also so ready to get it over with and behind me.

I hope you get your appt soon. The worst part I think is waiting. Take comfort in the fact that this is what they do for a living and while it sounds scary to us, this is their specialty.

Take care Dawn, sending best wishes your way :)

Yes, definitely. Before my surgery, I was dizzy and falling constantly. And, 8 months post-op, still have some dizziness and still fall -- just not as much. So it does improve. Docs kept telling me it was because of the complicated migraines (stroke-like symptoms with them). But as long as I'm getting around I'm doing ok

Hi Dawn,

From what i am finding out its common, not sure on how severe yours sound though if its two of the same. I have had dizzy spells for the last 3 weeks. My BA was in July. I went to a ENT specialist and found out that I have BPPV ( Benign Paroxysmal Posisitional Vetrigo). My ears started hurting and my same with my sinuses. They treated me for a sinus infection, nothing changed. So they did a CT scan, but my CT scan came out clear so my neuro sent me to the ENT. I was told that it is common from when they cut through my skull that it knocked the crystals in your inner ear out of wack from the vibration. There is a repositioning maneuver that they are doing on me starting this Thursday. I cant wait, its driving me crazy!

I hope you figure this out especially if you are falling down. Thoughts and prayers!

Kory-

Please let me know how this goes for you. I have self diagnosed BPPV for me, and am thinking about seeing an ENT for it. Thank you!

I sure will James. My appointment is this Thursday! :)

Well I had my appointment today and they did several tests. The think I have a little BPPV but mostly the dizziness is due to my vision loss and neuro healing. They did a hearing test, balance tests and those came out just fine. As we keep healing the neuro changes too and can cause other things to pop up. And my left eye still doesnt want to play nice with the other eye. More rehab of my eye is in store for now and then we go from there. I wish they could just fix it. :(
