Angogram

I am scheduled for an angogram this Thursday, I know this is the first step before treatment. But how long do I have to wait after this test before Coiling. I am growing mors and more anixious each day . I know that can't be helpful.

Hello Elizabeth:

I am also scheduled for an angiogram on October 15th. But, after speaking with some other doctors, they say that it is no use to do the angiogram alone because part of the procedure, at least the coiling and stenting procedures, is the angiogram anyway.

So, because in my case that is what they would do, the coiling, I think I am going to cancel the angiogram until I decide if yes or no I will accept to do the treatment. I cannot decide yet: it's a tough decision because the risks in my case are similar whether I do the treatment or do nothing. I thought perhaps I could share with you what I learned.

What kind of procedure do they want to do on you ? Do you have a large aneurysme, is coiling or stenting considered or clipping or something else ? I suppose for clipping, for example, you might need the angio. I don't know about clipping.

My heart goes with you. Please let me know

Michele

I believe the angiogram gives them a more precise view of the size and structure of the aneurysm. It’s a very useful procedure in my opinion. I’ve had many dine and the doc knew exactly what he needed to do. It measures blood flow, size and exact location.

Mine ruptured and it was all done at one time, so I can't help you on this one!!!

Hi Elizabeth! best of luck on thursday-hang in there the waiting is the hardest part, try to keep your mind occupied while you wait, try to remain calm knowing you are in good hands--keep us posted, we'll keep you in our thoughts and prayers. i'm near philly! are you going to jefferson?
