hi ,I recently moved my mother in with me after living in a nursing home for a few years she suffered a Brain Aneurysm about 5 years ago .I recently got power of attorney and now she lives with me.She is 75 years old now and shes still very healthy. She remembers everyone and she remembers things from her past,he short term memory and her attention span seems to be an issue she gets bored very quickly. The place my brother put her was horrible! all she did all day was smoked, now that shes here she Maybe has 2 a day what I'm wondering is what kind of activities can I do with her? I dont drive ,I want to keep her brain active...
Are there any vans for senior pick up in your area? You can sign your mom up and they will take her to senior events, etc.,
You are a great daughter taking mom in your home...this will help her greatly...~ Colleen
hi md! did mom have a sah? the answer would be dependant on what she enjoyed prior to her b/a, I do sudokus and crossword puzzles and also tried a free trial of lumosity.com but then my vision could not support the games on there so I got a refund, google plasticity of the brain theres tons of articles about brain training and the benefits for the aging brain. Good of you to ask for her md I hope you find what your looking for
Thank you ,yes she likes to color and paint.....I'll get more art supplies so I can see what she likes :)
A friend of mine actually just sent me a number for a place like that :)they take them on outings, and sometimes I can even go along :) and thank you,I can see her improving so much ,its like there was always a fear knowing she had to eventually go back there ,And now she seems so relaxed.
Lots of advice / opportunities noted below...
Great wishes...keep us updated..
