A little art therapy

Just sharing a very simple art therapy video that I just tried for the first time – found it on IG. https://youtu.be/UOLNp4ekiTA through Mindful Art Studio | Art journaling and mindful creation from the heart I thought of you @FinWhaleFan & @Moltroub 'cause she started with a whole lotta breathing before even picking up the pen
This is my little scribble that I did during the YouTube tutorial. I think I will be taking my pen and mini sketch pad to the hospital for my next post procedure recovery! I thought it worthy to share as you don’t really have to have a knack for drawing.

This looks so much fun and relaxing. Good idea to take a pen and paper with you to the hospital

First of all, love what you did! That looks so soothing … although I am not sure WHY you thought of me for “very simple art therapy.”    (You were completely right to so do!)

I did laugh when you mentioned breathing, only because about the same time a friend & I were texting each other about forming an anti-stress club, and sharing tips and tricks. She reminded me of one of my favorite Box Breathing YouTube videos - to me, the trees enrich the practice! Sharing in case this quick 1 minute refresher helps you out as well.

I will definitely check out that link. It reminds me of neurographic art, so will be curious to figure out if there is a link.

Thanks so much for sharing!

Lovely. One piece of “art” I am proud of is a picture of my head from the Neuro-ICU. I actually had it enlarge and mounted and it is hanging in my office, next to a Warhol and a Rothko.

Hello! Doodling us so theraputic!! My last art class was taken in college over 35 years ago. One bit of advice, take that pencil and sketchbook with you everywhere. When the urge hits or you are feeling a little out of sorts, doodle away!

When I was released from hospital after my ruptured annie the doctor encouraged me to learn something new. I’m not interested in knitting so I bought canvases, acrylics and brushes and started to paint! I did paintings for my family members who said they were shocked at how well I could paint. That was almost 11 years ago and I still love painting. The hours pass so quickly during my day. I am also doing macrame…my other love! Very challenging but really therapeutic for me.
