What a week! A bit chilly in the early mornings here in North Carolina but the fall colors seem to be holding their own. Fall is like recovering from procedures to repair aneurysms to me, the leaves keep falling, I keep mowing, the leaves fall some more, I mow some more, maybe rake, and get the blower and mulcher out. Eventually even the large Red Oak will stop shedding its leaves - next Spring. It’s the approach we take in healing, the issues keep coming up and we keep plugging away finding new means to an end, and eventually we become settled and open to new growth.
We’re starting this week off with @Tanja over in Hamburg, Germany. Tanja had an aneurysm found in March of this year, had it clipped in August and is now recovering. She’s also a single mother, a Psychologist and adventurous. A lot on her plate but she can do it!
@Spousecaregiver has been busy reading posts! Janine is up in Michigan. Her spouse had ruptured in April 2022 and is still very confused and has become emotional and combative. Janine has already started a topic Caregiver with a lot of questions. Let’s help her out, especially you caregivers, who have a much different viewpoint than those of us who’ve ruptured. I hope she’s taking a break every now and then to enjoy the outdoors and reenergizing herself!
@evilee927 is in the US, a pretty big country for those who’ve never driven across it. I think it’s close to 3,000 miles East to West (I’ve only driven about 2500 from California to Pennsylvania) and probably close to the same from North to South. All we know is Jonna has an aneurysm. Hope you post Jonna!
@Judi is in Windermere, Florida. She has a story to tell y’all and I hope you read it. I’ll try to summarize but best to read her profile! 2021 she found out she had 2 aneurysms. She had a couple of second opinions, chose a surgeon and the angiogram gave more details thn what they first thought. Scheduled surgery, the one that was of no concern ruptured during the stent placement and she received 2 stents. She came out with some issues, has a great outlook that we can all try to emulate, had her six month follow up and went back into surgery and woke up fine! She’s waiting for her next six month follow up to see if the surgeon has nipped it in the bud. I’m looking forward to reading more of your story!
@JonAndrewA is in Washington D.C. but ruptured up in Newport, Rhode Island. Another interesting story, please read it! A plethora of medication was prescribed which JonAndrew is attempting to come off after several weeks in NSICU. Like many of us, went to one hospital when we ruptured and flown to another for treatment. I believe when JonAndrew says it was a level 4 SAH, it’s the Fischer Level, but I’m unsure. JonAndrew credits mother and husband for getting to Rhode Island quickly and helping with great medical decisions. We will have to wait for confirmation… JonAndrew was in training for the XO position onboard a Destroyer and is hoping to return to sea once cleared medically. We hope your dreams come true and you get to finish your training JonAndrew but be patient with yourself! I’d salute you any day!
@AliciaD is in Texas. Alicia had an MRI for possible stroke or TIA and wouldn’t y’all know it, they found an 8.5mm aneurysm on the Basilar artery. (That’s the thick trunk in the Circle of Willis) so now the wait for the angiogram and possible coiling begins…
@Preciousgambrah88 is the latest new member for this week. Bianca is in New York, just had two stents placed I think this past Wednesday. She developed a blood clot and now can’t see clearly from left eye. Experiencing the non stop migraines we often get after a procedure I’m sure she’ll come on when she’s able.
Welcome to all our new members! We hope you each find some support and wisdom from others and we really look forward to what you can add to the pot! I liken our membership to the stone soup story - its magic when we all share!
