Smellingandtaste

My mother is doing much better now. She had the surgery in June and her only problems seem to be her sense of smell and taste, which are not as acute as they were in the past. Anyone else experience this and will it come back in time?

Heather, One year ago I had permanent occlusion and coiling of a giant aneurysm. For about a month after the procedure, my sense of taste and smell was all screwed up. Even my favorite foods did not smell or taste right. It was really upsetting. All I could eat was yogurt and saltine crackers. I lost a whole lot of weight, which was the only good thing about it! Slowly, it started to get better. Now it's all normal. Hope your mom sees improvement soon.
