Radial Artery Lump

They used my femoral artery for surgery but used the Radial Artery for their monitor “RAD Line?” Bruising is much better, but I noticed a small lump. Is this normal? I’m reading about psudoaneurysm complications and hope it’s not that. It’s quite small. Just wondering if anyone had any lump at all during recovery from their RAD line. Mine is from 1 week ago.

I had a small lump from the radial artery access for my endovascular coiling. It took 2-3 weeks for it to go down and disappear. I also had a lot of bruising on inside of my forearm. I sent a photo of it to the team through the medical portal and they said it wasn’t anything to be concerned with. I think it just depends on how it’s inserted and removed so there’s less bleeding under the skin.

I too had a lump and bruising. Soreness as well. It will slowly go away.

Thanks all. I had an ultrasound and it was a hematoma. No issues. It’s already nearly gone.

Great news! Thanks for the update.

I don’t know if it is normal. I had an aneurysm repaired 3.5 years ago, and still have pain in the femoral area. The area stings and hurts. The femoral artery was invaded 3 times in 9 months. I’ve been going to PT, I guess it helps a little, but my legs vain will never be the same.

It will get better, I had the one to repair my rupture, 6 months later a diagnostic and a week after that the 2nd coiling. Did your surgeon use both legs as mine does?
