Pipeline stent

I have to go in for a follow up next week …they told me to keep me stress down, but my son is getting married and it was just thrown on us…

Flashing comes and goes. My dr said it was normal and would go away. It has got better. My doctor has done 100’s of the surgeries

I call my floaters silent migraines. It’s an aura type thing only on my right side. I get it usually once a month. No pain and I’ve seen drs. and they aren’t worried. It happens sometimes when I’m stressed. I still have some dizzy moments and it’s been over 2 years. I just call it my new normal. There’s a dizzy imbalance center by me I hope to visit next year. Will let you know how it goes.

I just had a Pipeline device and coiling put over my 10mm aneurysm this past wednesday (two days ago). The doctors said everything went perfectly. I stayed overnight in ICU and was then released. This morning I woke up with a really bad migraine, but Excedrin Migraine seemed to help. I just had to make sure not to take my 325 mg aspirin since the excedrin has 250 mg in it. Also I noticed I had a small blood spot near my left eye. The aneurysm is behind my left eye so it concerned me. When I called my neurosurgeon’s office he had me go give bloodwork to check my levels regarding plavix and aspirin effects, and they are reducing my dosage on the plavix. I go back for more bloodwork in 10 days and meet with the neurosurgeon again in 6 weeks and to get a CTA. The pain in my groin so far almost seems identical to the angiogram i had a few weeks ago. Took about 5 days to fully recover from that. I have a smaller aneurysm (4mm) in the back right of my head but neuro won’t treat that one until 6 more months. Blood vessels near that one are small so they won’t be able to do pipeline but he’s going to try to coil and stent. Craniotomy scares me so I hope they can coil and stent.

In two weeks my PED will celebrate 9 years it means 10 years from aneurysm rupture. I was very very lucky and I wish all the best to my community friends from Milan Italy

I am 5 years after pipeline stent inserted for a 16mm Annie :clap:. I do have sensitivity to loud noises and bright lights.

Hi There… I just went to Johns Hopkins and had the pipeline placed on my Left supraclinoid ICA. Im doing pretty well except for the nausea and this overall ill feeling at times. I do feel slight pressure at times behind my left eye and I have severe dry eye which i had prior to the stent. Im not sure whats causing the mild/moderate nausea could be the asa and the Plavix or the brain saying get this thing out…

How are you feeling now and are you better yet?

I have 3 PEDs in my brain box to shore up one large aneurysm. Although I went completely blind for months afterwards, I now have a percentage of vision returned. I can’t blame the PEDs on the blindness, as it was caused by the large swelling of the clot that formed after being stented. I also have some brain damage such as stuttering at times. also anxiety and mild panic attacks, sensitivity to bright lights etc, but again I can’t blame it on the PEDs. These symptoms could be due to the swelling caused by the clot, which would have occurred using other methods. Currently my Aneurysm is completely gone. I have an MRI scheduled for August.

Hi I haven’t been on this site in a few years, yes. I’m alive today because of the ped device , I had a 14 mm fusiform aneurism on the basiler artery , owe my life to it !!! Joey

Great news Joey! Do you mind starting a new topic? This is 3 years old and will eventually be closed. But your experience could really help others.

Sorry I didn’t realize the date on it, there were only like 20 members when I joined,

I"m glad you came back on and posted!

My 5mm Internal Carotid Artery is completely flat less than 1 year following my pipeline stent…so thankful for this technology and my physician!

How was follow up did u have to do angiogram thanks from susie

I mentioned a dizzy imbalance center near me. I did visit and after the evaluation I was told I’m good to go and hopefully the imbalance issue will get better. I’m glad I’m here and I deal with it when my balance is off. It could be worse.

Try Tai Chi, it really helped me with my balance issues.

Hi, did the eye complication happen before or after the pipeline? thanks. Jeff

Was this question for me? I had lost sight in my left eye a few years prior to the aneurysm being discovered. Complete blindness occurred after the stents were placed. This was caused by the swelling caused by the clot that forms and which then crushed my optic nerve. I now have a percentage of really good eyesight in my right eye - enough to continue my favorite hobbies such as photography
