So I just received a call about 10 minutes ago from Buster’s mom. Apparently the pressure has built back up on his brain and they are taking him back for his third operation. This time they are going to remove a portion of his skull to relieve some of the pressure. The surgeon said this particular procedure should take about an hour. As I am at work and not at the hospital, I am unable to ask the Dr. any questions. How common is this procedure?
Tara,
Usually a shunt is installed to help reduce the pressure. As I understand, it is very common for this to occur. My wife had one installed during her initial surgery.
