LONG: Ruptured PICA (belated 1st anniversary) story

Personally, I get as much out of being here (or more often in my usual online community to do with my AVM) and helping people a small step along the way, as anything else I do in life.

There nothing better than being able to say to someone who’s just had a diagnosis, “Hey, it’s not going to be as bad as you think because I was in exactly your position [of terror!] 7 years ago.”

We are simply other normal [:rofl:] human beings going through the same stuff, worrying about the same stuff but being able to witness to “I’m still here, why not you?”

It’s a great place.

Well, Richard, I agree with that - it is a very fine place to be!

I am happy to hear that you also get a personal reward out of your efforts (adopting the AVM community as well). You all set the tone and it makes a tremendous difference. I am grateful to you all!

I completely agree that is why I am here - to support others who may be going through a similar experience so that they can know that life after a rupture IS possible. But, if we have to shut down the platform as aneurysms become a thing of the past - well, that is far better!!!

Wouldn’t that be grand, to shut down because they’ve got it all figured out and no one has to rupture or deal with an aneurysm! I look forward to that day, I really do. In the meantime I do think your helping other members on their journey is excellent, please keep up the good work!

@Moltroub -

Stop! You are making me tear up!! I know, I know - working on the emotional healing phase - tears are a GOOD thing! :smiley:

Thank you for the affirmation - it truly means a great deal to me. (Low spoons kind of day, so it is extra special!)
