Hello,
I am 5 weeks out from surgery and I have been losing hair around my scar line right in front it is an area the size of my thumb.
Has anyone else experienced this? Will the hair grow back? I know this may be from the cautery…but I really hope it is not permanent.

It seemed to take forever for my hair to come back in after my first clipping (1998) at that time they used staples on me so I don't know if that had much to do with the return of my hair or not--it DID come back in finally, as full as it had been prior...in 2010 I had another clipping on the opposite side, but the surgeoun must be a closet seamstress or something as the scar was so much neater then my 1998 surgery and my hair grew in rather quickly it seemed...in 2006 I had a shunt which had to be removed, and honestly that shunt scar is by far the largest one on my head--to this day, depending on how I wear my hair, that "U" shaped scar is the first thing you see! Your pic, your hair looks like its coming in well to me, maybe the one area you described is just taking its sweet time....Peace to you, Janet
Hi, Thank you for the response, My surgeon used staples too. My profile picture is good there, the hair started breaking and falling out after the profile pic look at the attachment to my comment. It is worse now. thank you I will keep my fingers crossed
