no stent, only coils...and i will go for annual mris the rest of my life..i actually welcome this just to make sure nothing else develops as i get older...but talked to my nuerologist at my recent mri..and was told once its been obliterated theres no chance of it coming back, how on the other hand can i develop addtl annys? only God will be able to tell if thats gonna happen or not...i keep my trust n the man up above and feel that hes blessed me with remarkable drs who have muy trust..
Hi Sherri...My adenoma has to be checked from time to time...if it gets to be 4cm or meters...I forget right now...I must have it removed...I have had it checked twice a few years ago...and it grew by a small amount...my problem...no one would give me MRI because I couldn't say exactly, what coils made from and the manufacturing....as of today, I rec'd copies of all my files...so I don't think this will be a problem...and it verified my other annie is 2mm behind my left eye...
I feel better having my records...one step at a time, but will keep you posted...Hope this finds you well...Cyber~thoughts your way...Colleen
Sherri-thanks for your understanding about the venting! My surgery is scheduled for this coming Monday 11/21. Have to be there at 6:00 am again...they say they will keep me overnight and send me home the next day..Hope it's as easy as the angio was because I feel fantastic less than a week out from that. Am resting and taking it easy....started the Plavix and aspirin yesterday and I've got a bit of an upset stomach from it, but I'm not complaining. Least of my worries for sure! Will definitely update after surgery, or will make sure husband does, thanks for the reminder! TTYS....CeCe
Colleen...I can well appreciate your not getting records; even when you get them they may be a joke...
Seven of eight angiograms are missing from my records...and, they are the clinical data that supprots the written records... of the one angio maintained, it is incomplete.
Please request CD/DVD of your angios and any other CTs, etc...the rad unit should be the provider, not the regular records center. Pull your billing records and look for what / how many were billed...
Prayers to you in securing what you have requested;
Hugs,
Pat
Hi Pat...Thank you so much for the information...and my next step is requesting DVD's...I must say, I was reading records last night...and wording...well let's just say, they really are protecting themselves...
I was given Blood Transfusion...and that wasn't even listed...or I missed it...
Pat...this annie thing isn't just a journey...but an "eye~opener" on the medical field...
Cyber~Thoughts, Prayers and hugs your way....Colleen
I am now using Culturelle, a probiotic that can be bought at drug stores for the stomach upset (which I never have had to take one, but I am now a "walking drug store" with the amount of meds I am one now.
I was told the same thing - a one night stay, but I wasn't doing well the next day (pain wise, thought it was my hips, but my doc told me Tuesday it is my sacroiliac joint) so I stayed an additional day. Plus, I had pretty bad headaches afterward and the doctor was trying to control with dilaudid and morphine, which did nothing for them. After I asked him for fioricet Wednesday morning, he gave me that with oxycodone, which finally started controlling the headaches. I have cut down to 1-2 a day as the headaches are going away (yay!!).
I have muscle problems and possible RP, so the hip pain is just me, this is not usual with this surgery. I'm not trying to scare you, but you probably will have headaches - just be prepared that your doc gives you meds for them.
I am so glad that you are having the surgery next week - be sure that you aren't having to prepare Thanksgiving dinner - you will not have the energy for that! That, too, gets much better in time. I think for several days afterward I could only stay up for an hour at a time.
Praying for your speedy recovery, and yes, please let us know how you are afterward.
Sherri
Hi Sherri...I have had stomach problems for years...at 47 ... GI Doctor told me I have twisted esophagus and gastritus like a 90 year old...I have Taken Align (probiotic) everyday for 2 years...and have found a big difference....like you, I too, feel like a walking drugstore...
Have a great day...Colleen
This is the first time I have ever had stomach problems except for my time on Tamoxifen, which made me really nauseous and put me on nausea medicine for 4 yrs. I really feel for those that have long term stomach problems (my daughter does).
I can eat anything!! I think for me it is only the drug combinations I am now on.
I did question my doctor about MRIs and security devices. He assured me I would not set off alarms, etc. After the surgery (not sure what time, but the same day), they did a quick MRA to ensure that everything was okay and my head did not blow up!! It's hard to believe that you were not able to get an MRI. I also need to request my records - I only have the original MRA, but I am in good hands. So lucky to have a doctor with bedside manners and knowledge!
Hi Sherri...If I had my MRI done up in Gainsville Florida (where my neuro surgery was done) it wouldn't have been a problem, but I was back home in Lakeland where my Doctor wanted my adenoma looked at again with MRI...no longer can radiology just take the word of patient...they wanted Mfg and type of coils...which took me almost one year to get back...so in one way I am glad my Hospital in lakeland wants to be safe then sorry...it pushed me to get the needed records...
You are so thoughtful and sweet Sherri, thanks for all your kindness, it means alot...
Have a good day...Colleen
