Doctors said I can go off Baby Aspirin but…

I haven’t yet had my first follow up MRI.

Had UNRUPTURED MCA Aneurysm repaired using WEB device. Will have first follow up in 3 weeks. This will be an MRI and sit down with doc.

The only medication prescribed to me was baby a spring 81mg. I was told I’m good to get off after 4 weeks post op. That was a week ago and I don’t know how I feel about it. I’m a little worried as I see everyone is on them for at least 3 months plus? Has anyone been told only 1 month? Are there any real negatives to staying on them until at least my first follow up MRI in 2 weeks?

I hope others with a W.E.B. device will let you know what they did. Personally, I try to follow what my doctors say as they’re the ones who’ve had the training. Whenever one tells me I can stop a med, I get excited. I just don’t like to take any medication, but that’s me. You probably should call your doctor or reach out to through your portal and ask. I did find this one study that’s not specific to aspirin but I found it interesting Persistent Blood Flow inside the Woven EndoBridge Device More Than 6 Months after Intracranial Aneurysm Treatment: Frequency, Mechanisms, and Management—A Retrospective Single-Center Study - PMC

My first search I had just put in WEB device and boy did I get a lot of things not related to aneurysms lol. I had to add the word aneurysm to my search.

I also found this that does speak to aspirin, you’ll have to scroll down a good bit to find it https://jnis.bmj.com/content/12/5/512. There’s many, many more as it’s been used in Europe a lot longer than here in the States and I don’t know what Canada does.

Good morning, I had an unruptured aneurysm repaired in 2015 and still taking 81 mg aspirin every day. I was told by my neurosurgeon; I will need to take always. I recommend you contact your doctor and have a discussion.

Thank you, that’s a great resource.

Hi, how was it repaired? I believe that has a lot to do with the post treatment.
