Hi everyone long time I haven’t posted.
I’m a bit scared I was diagnosed with thyroid Cancer and I am having a thyroidectomy. .I have 2 brain aneurysms one coiled one being monitored. My fear is that this cancer and surgery will affect my aneurysms. .I know the brain sends messages throughout the body but since I will no longer have thyroids what is going to happen. I speak to my surgeon this Thursday and will see what he says but I was wondering if anyone can prepare me foe what’s he is going to say in regards to this cancer affecting my aneurysms. Please if anyone had been through this or can share any opinions please do. I’m so scared. .
My sister had thyroid cancer ( at 13) and a thyroidectomy some 53 years ago, before much progress had been made in the cancer field. (She didn’t have an aneurysm though)She has lived a very heathy normal life and because of that diagnosis , she went into the alternative medicine field. I’ve always heard IF you are going to have cancer that the thyroid is a very treatable type. I doubt any surgeon would do anything to you to jeapordize the stability of your Annie’s. Have a frank discussion with your doctor /surgeon / neuro surgeon to discuss any risks, then decide the best treatment. I’m so sorry, I’m sure you thought it couldn’t get any worse, than this happens. Apparently you are a strong person as you survived your annie surgery. Hang in there and educate yourself until you feel confident you are making the best decisions… Best wishes and God Bless!
Great to hear that your sister is doing so good and living a healthy life.
Thank you for replying I’m actually going to see my surgeon tmrw for surgery date something that is suppose to be a 2 day stay in the hospital has turned into a week long stay I’m nervous more about my annies since I came this far since 2014 and now to put more stress on my brain cancer is scary but I have come along way with these annies to now suffer more.

Just saw this thread - did you have your surgery yet? So sorry for the double whammy, that's really tough. Fear only breeds more fear - my motto, taken from a children's song my kids learned at vacation bible school one year: don't worry, instead pray. Please keep us all informed of what's happening and how you're doing!
