Hi All, I was just wondering if any of you had problems with Vitamin B12 before your aneurysm/burst aneurysm. I had low B12 a while before which was being cured by B12 injections then I went completely the other way and my levels were very high, just wondered if any one else had, had this sort of problem.
My anni hasn't ruptured, but when I was trying to figure out what was wrong with me I was diagnosed with low b12 also and been taking it ever since. Not the injections though.
It been 2 1/2 years since my rupture & now my I'm on B-12 shots because my B-12 is extremely low. I've had alot of health problems since my rupture. Can't tell you if I was low on the B-12 before the rupture as I never was tested before. Hope it does the trick, as I'm having problems with my legs. The docs say it is Neuropathy & now they are hoping the B-12 will help the swelling & the hurting I have in my legs. This is my 3rd shot & I still don't know if it helping at all. All I can do is wait & see.

Thank you for your reply, I was just trying to see if it was relevent to what happened I had 5 rounds of injections but at the end of the course my B12 was sky high, this happened just a couple of months prior to my rupture.
Hi Aggie, sounds like you are still having a rough time of it, thank you for your reply, I was just trying to see if it was relevent as my B12 went sky high just a couple of months before my annie burst. Take care of yourself xxx
Gil, Thanks for the encouragement as I need it. Every day is hard to start moving, as i wonder if I'm ever going to start feeling good. Just have learned to take one day at a time. You take care as we all need encourgement to handle what we all have had given to us. Keep thinking of a little saying that someone quoted me, " God doesn't give us anything we can't handle" makes me wonder what he intended for me. Take care.
Aggie
Gill...hello, again...it has been ages...
My question to you...what are the symptoms, if any, of high B12? What kind of problem?
Post treatment, the neurologist definitely checked my B...before I rattle on my lifespan of daily B...it began as shots when I was 13...I do not expect mine was low before leaks/ruptures.. only time there is no record of daily B is while hospitalized and post discharge had all kinds of skin issues...still deal with some...but switched to milk of magnesia and/or organic vinegar and/or a lip gloss...
Please tell us what the problem is you are having...
Pat
Hello again, to you, Aggie...I get so removed unintentionally...my mental capacity tangles when I mix subjects...Today I did write in "ask the doc"...my subject and I cannot do another!
I think we need a "recovery" list of issues...one for the wired, one for the clipped, and one for the overlap of both...same symptoms...
High curiosity on your swelling...I went thru that only on my left calf/foot...where I got/get the severe cramps...I had such a potassium hit in the minimally invasive care...have had to take potassium daily since discharge; if the cramps still arrive, I double the daily for a day or two... Like everything, too much can create other issues...
Do yu have your blood tests? How often do you get them? Some of our members get them quarterly and others do not get them until the week before a f/up angio...
Prayers the B will bring relief / recovery...
Pat
Hi Pat, as you say it has been ages, I trust you are keeping well. I asked the question because I am trying to get to the bottom of why this happened, I guess we will never know, but after you posed the question above I had a look on the internet and the following was said about B12 too much/overdose, see below, don't know if this helps, take care of yourself, hugs Jill xxx

Pat, Thanks for the reply. Still not sure if the B-12 is working, as the swelling is still really bad. Yesterday it hurt all day & was swollen. Wore pj bottoms all day as they are baggy. My legs are always cold to the touch. Maybe I just need to give it more time I don't know. I'm just tired of feeling so crappy all the time. Whats the use of living if you can't enjoy life! Thanks for listening to me.
Aggie
Gill, thank you for this...
Yes, there can be additives to so many OTCs and/or pharma products and all the OTC bottle ingredients should be checked...like contraindications/warnings on pharma products...
Is your B12 now at the right level? Did you have symptoms generating the tests?
Did the level show in your blood tests before any symptoms?
If MD prescribed/adminsitered B12 injections...seems like that should be pretty pure without additives like iodine/sorbitol, whatever else...memory slipping as to whether there is any level of iodine normally (god-given) in B...
So glad we all have each other to share...
Pat
Aggie...
Did you have any swelling before treatment? How high does it expand on your leg?
When did you have the treatment that the swelling followed?
And, the time span between treatment and swelling?
Mine stays at the foot/ankle level; began on the left; this past year, shifted to the right...
How often do you have blood tests? Has creatinine / eGFR, glucose, and vitamin D been discussed with you? ?
Many of us have the body temp issues...we can talk more later...
Take care...we have lots more to talk about...we likely have many similar issues...
Hugs,
Pat
Hi again, Pat - Of the question about the swelling, before I had the rupture I had no problem with my legs. The swelling didn't begin until I was taken off of one medication & put another., after i had a stroke. That's when I notice that something was wrong. Since then the swelling has gotten worse. The swelling is just above the knee all the way to the ankle. My right side is worse than the left. Didn't have any blood work done for quite sometime when the docs decided they didn't know what was wrong & ran a blood test. I do take vitamin D, 2000 mg daily. I'm getting two answers when I ask if the rupture could've cause this problem. My primary doc says yes & my neurologist doc says no, so who do I believe? Wish they would get their stories straight. Enough complaining. Here's for you to have a very, blessed Happy Easter. Thinking of you.
Aggie
Hi Pat, was exhausted most of the time and had a few stomach problems so GP sent me for blood test which determined B12 level but apart from that I had no other symptoms, it is so nice to be able to share our thoughts, sometimes I just sit here and think could this/that have caused it but as in my first thread I guess we will never know for sure, have a good and happy easter, Jill xxxx
Gill,
Yes, we all have a lot to share... on our blood tests... viamins, minerals...and proteins...
And the timeframes...some of us have quarterly blood tests...some of us have experienced delayed blood tests...
We all have a lot to share...vitamins/minerals: their transmision in our systems...
Hugs for a Happy Easter...our last few days resemble spring...
Pat
I am waiting fir surgery of my aneurysm
My b12 is low only just found out I felt dreDfull
Now on injections 3 times a week I hope this isn’t a sign that it’s going to rupture I’m terrified
Freddie, You stumbled on a topic that’s 7 years old. I would suggest you ask your neurosurgeon about the correlation between B-12 and ruptures. The Neurosurgeon will know better than anyone else IMHO.
