A terrified husband. My suffered a rupture

Hi Roger,

Just to add my experience to what the others have said, her headaches and neck pain are normal. I suffered a rupture of ACoA a year ago last November. The headaches that I had after the coiling were horrendous. My doctor said that they could last up to 6 months. Fortunately that was not the case. They continued but diminished within a week or so after I returned home. One thing that I did find seemed to relieve them was taking a hot shower. I think there were days when I took 6 - 8 a day. Fatigue is another symptom that she will most likely experience. I still find myself taking "naps" on a daily basis. Good luck and God bless.

Hi to everyone and thanks so much for all your comments, prayers and support. Well it was last Thurs she was admitted by emergency to hospital - a day that'll be etched on my mind forever and something I still can't talk about without breaking down.

The good news is she's doing so well. She's now closer to the exit door of the hospital. Yesterday she was up and mobile, although a little wobbley. She's been sat up eating chocolate and laughing. She's exactly the same gorgeous lady I fell in love with. Headaches are even not so severe and longer apart.

CT scan clear and Ultrasounds check for Vasospasm are all normal so far.

Not taking anything for granted but all good so far and Drs hope to allow her out on Friday.

It's a million times better than winning the lottery!!!!!! Keep those fingers crossed XX

YAY!!!!!!!! I've been thinking of you and your wife so much. I really do think she will be fine, and she herself will be posting here soon if she wants to. It's funny - when you wrote that she's eating chocolate....I remember eating pudding in the hospital and was shocked at how good it was....hadn't had pudding in years....I'm glad she's enjoying chocolate and some laughter. It will keep getting better. You remind me of my husband, and I know how lucky I am to have him, and your wife is so lucky to have you. I can't remember if you've written of it - but do you have children? We have 3.

Yes, this puts everything in life in sharp perspective - I could care less about lottery or really much of anything besides health (mine and others). When it comes down to it, health is all that matters. Keep up the updates! Cheering you on from sunny L.A.

Once more: She's in GOD'S HANDS....I DO have you BOTH in my SINCERE PRAYERS. Everyone seems to have different reactions to the 'annies'....GODS will is in charge...NOT u/she/OR any doctor. She IS in my SINCERE prayers and shall remain there, U both will. sILVER bELLE

I napped ALOT...& I was NOT a napper...I still do, tho not as much. It's NORMAL. Your brain needs a break, to heal.

Thanks Jennifer. Pleased to say she's home and doing well. Get's very tired and still has the headaches but getting there.

Yes - we have a daughter who is three years old. Sadly she was there when it all happened and held her Mummy's hand whilst we waited for the ambulance. She's so happy to have her home though as are we all.

Thanks again from rainy UK.

I had/can have terrible headaches & my 'Annie' was in 2005. (AND now am coiled & have a stent) Some things will just always be. THE IMPORTANT thing is SHE IS ALIVE. God NEVER gives us more than we can handle. I pray for my 'Annie' family EVERY night. I don't have to SEE (KNOW) U in person to feel you are all my family.

Hi Roger -

Just checking in and hoping your wife (and you!) are continuing to do well.

Have a good day....is it still rainy across the pond?

Jennifer

Hi Jennifer. Yes she's home and it's like nothing's happened. She's doing really well and the headaches are almost gone. Wish I felt the same - still terrified.

2 weeks tomorrow and it's like nothing ever happened. Me on the otherhand am like a nervous wreck and even keep waking her at night to make sure she's alright. Not sleeping and when I do I seem to dream the whole thing over again.

What a mess but at least she's doing well and the Sun's shining.

Roger

Kimberly...

You were blessed with the quality of your care and accompanied by your own overall health. You are the miracle girl...who was blessed with miracle neuro-specialists... one does not work without the other...

The two together are god-given.

Pat
