Well folks it’s another sad Sunday for me, no welcomes to announce. On the flip side, it’s possible that no one’s had a rupture or an incidental finding, right? I remember learning “Anything is possible” sometime in my youth. What I don’t remember ever happening here is going two weeks without new members! I joined in 2014, so it’s been awhile. Some things are mind boggling.
Wanted to pass on something I accidentally learned this past week. Social Security has changed their ways of doing business. They want everything done electronically. In order to do that, there are two sites one can verify oneself. Both ways require a picture ID that then feeds into everything government related. After several hours and a couple of days, figured out my name wasn’t the same on my DL as on my SS card. We didn’t have to use our full names on our SS card, we could actually use whatever we were called. With the help of some very kind employees I had an appointment made over the phone, texts were sent to me and like magic I wasn’t in their office for hours, had a new card with my full name, and off I went.
If you haven’t been on the SSA site in a few years, please check them out as you may also need to update things. You will need a current driver’s license or legal ID card with your current residence. If you move, you’ll need to update either card and do the address change or you could lose your benefits apparently. I hadn’t been in it for years and the first young man said I was close to losing mine. Now I just have to learn to respond to my Grandma’s name:zany_face:
